Wrong ones bud. Sorry! There's a picture a few pages earlier in this thread of the correct ones. Take a screen shot then go give your dealer an earful. They certainly should've known better!

They 100% put on the Double Cab step rails on your Crew Max. The Crew Max rails go the entire length of the cab to the point where it meets your bed box. See the pic below.

They probably ordered the wrong part number. Here are the correct labels:
    • D-Cab = CrewMax
    • C-Cab = Double Cab
They probably ordered you the C-Cab steps thinking those meant "Crew Max." Also...see post #217 of this same thread to see the same steps on a Crew Max. I'm sorry, but your steps are def wrong. Have your dealer fix it.

Thanks. So I talked to the dealer. He said my salesman gave the parts guy the number I sent him (and the explanation) but he ordered the other one anyway. Oh well.
edited to add: The correct ones will be in Monday.

I cannot believe the dealer did that. Any halfway competent installer would know that is incorrect. Damn shame.

oh man, people think I'm crazy doing maintenance work on my new Toyota on my own and not using the free 2 year maintenance plan

I just don't trust dealerships work and they prove me right.

I'm not trained mechanic, but in reality, there are only 2 things that need done regularly:
    • oil change
    • tire rotation
both you can find plenty of tutorial and you save about $100 in labor each time and also you know it's done right.

Not all dealerships are bad, but EVERY dealership assigns the most novice tech to oil changes and tire rotations especially the prepaid maintenance.

    Common mistakes or neglects are:
    • incorrect oil level
    • oil filler cap not installed
    • over torqued drain plug and filter
    • marred and over torqued lug nuts
it might surprise you but these mistakes happen a lot, and I just don't want to gamble my luck with them.

For other things more complicated like a turbo wastegate, I actually trust dealership tech because only master tech gets to work on those issues.

Front my experience with the Tacoma TRD Pro skid plate, which almost weighs about 30 lbs, it's not easy to do 1 person by hand

    Completed two ways
    1. Lift by hand and attach two anchor points. Definitely the difficult route.
    2. Hockey puck on jack, balance skid plate on top of puck and slowly lift into position

Any chance of a group buy with Sparks for the skid plate? Wondering if we could get shipping down a bit more, or maybe free shipping with enough orders....

Any of you guys have experience or ever installed the Westcott pre collar lifts on previous Gen’s? I watched the video and love the look of it. Not sure if I want to pull the trigger on one yet. Curious on how the drive feels and if it is a good product.

Anybody else think buddy's video was crap? Didn't lift the truck for a better view. Didn't lower the air dam, unless I'm mistaken and his truck doesn't have one. If it does, it literally takes a few seconds and gets it out of the way, but you'd have to at least have the truck on ramps to raise the front end. Again, easily accomplished. And, he didn't even show the actual installation.

Update on my incorrect step installation yesterday: The dealership was very embarrassed. They got the correct ones picked up last night, are coming to pick up my truck this morning, install the correct ones and return it to me by lunch.

I guess it's a good thing that the Toyota maintenance interval on oil changes is like every 10k miles. But, regardless, removing the skid plate every oil change is still a extra step which creates a minor pain each time.

I'm still going to pull the trigger on the skid plate post lift & tires.

go look at the part # on the box.

if it has c-cab then thats for the double cab

if it has d-cab then thats for the crew max cab.

toyota started the cab fitment guide at "A-Cab=single", "B-Cab=ext cab" "C-Cab=double" "D-Cab=crew" if i remember correctly

Never had any experience with them personally but the way I see it it’s still a spacer lift. I’m sure it rides fine for what it is, I have the rough country level kit (still need a truck to install it on) but if your going for the look and decent drive ability I’m sure you can’t really go wrong by any means. Went with RC simply because it was cheaper and less involved install. Soon I’m sure companies will come out with a actual strut replacement with different spring rates.

    2 Things:

    1) Assuming you got it realigned post RC install, did you do it at an independent shop or the dealer? - Most shops around here don't have alignment specs for the 22's yet.
    2) Did you have loosen the lower control arm or were you able to wedge the coil over assembly back in without doing that? - Just curious because I'm itching to install the RC kit, but if I have to loosen the lower A-arm...I know I'll 100% need an alignment so I'll just wait until the shops here have specs from Hunter.

Is there a way to use the tonneau cover mounts WITH the max mod steel/ alu racks? Since it will take ages (6+ months) to get a topper, I am thinking a tonneau and bed rack option would be clutch for my needs.

Yes, all of our Max Modular racks have the option to work with tonneau covers. You would select that option when ordering.

I think I may hold off for a bit to see what comes out and weigh my options. I want to see what the TRD suspension lift is about abs may go that route. Im not a huge fan of the spacer lifts. Westcott is basically telling us it’s better than just a spacer but it looks the same.

What does the group prefer for mats. The Toyota ones or wait for the weather tech?
