3rd Brake Light Dipped

After getting my butt kicked trying to replace the dreaded 3rd brake light I went another route.
1 light coat of blk plastidip on the lens. Remove 4 screws, clean, apply 1 light coat, reinstall. Simple. The YouTube vid I watched on doing this used 4 coats of glossifier over the 1 coat of dip and it looked good. May add glossifier later. It has a flat blk look I like. Here are a few pics and I'll add a nighttime pic when I can get somebody to brake it for me...at night. The cargo lights shine through good during the day.

Will be getting the led replacement bulbs to ensure max brightness but should be fine the way it is.
Returning anzo 3rd light to Amazon but it does look good quality with good seals. Good luck in your mod journey.

I have one.. I like it...but when I pack items it's like the video game Tetris gotta pack items right for it to close right

 

Love the hard top. Have always gotten one on my trucks. Also looks great all that attitude black paint. I don't load much other than groceries beach chairs beer and occasional luggage.

 

I thought about that but had a can of p dip sitting there. Watched the video then just said why not and used it. Came out really good.

 

Mine from Undercover...I like it it's not color match has a small 3 led lights to be honest it needs more lighting which I'm sure I can rig up since it has channels you can run wire through...but it keeps leaves snow rain out..but you have to pack items right if you want to close n lock it

Its the Leer 700 with the raised middle 1/3. Makes the truck look sporty and beefier from the side and back views.

 

Great job! I wanna cover the chrome section of the sides on tail lights

 

Mine has a raised lip on end and corners but levels down smooth

 

The brand is UNDERCOVER it came with truck already

 

And it's not a solid glossy feel just a semi textured feel to it

Replaced the Tyger cover that came w truck for used Toyota OEM one. Color is black instead of color matched Nautical Blue. My third brake light was melted in the middle when I bought the truck. Afraid to replace center bulb! Replaced cover w oem one off of eBay. Would look sweet like yours blacked out. I would keep the clear parts clear because I dig it cold dark mornings. Peace. D

Looks good man. I VHT’d my third brake light and it looks good. I was gonna plasti dip it but I was just Leary about how much light would penetrate the rubber coating..
