Hi all. Gonna be a delay for me got a hurricane heading my way. Gotta spend the next few days getting everything ready just in case it comes right at us. Shouldn’t be to bad as a cat 1 but still a pia. Good luck to anyone in the gulf coast region gonna be a crazy week next week.

Thanks man. I’ve been through a bunch of storms so I’m not to worried just a lot of clean up and work if it’s big enough.

It’s funny that answer is no. But I learned all you really need is a chainsaw gas beer and water. Usually eat like crazy the first few days because once you lose power good food gets slim.

 

So I messed around a bit with some ASA filament but it's a pain in the butt ... just like ABS but seems to adhere to the bed worse and warp more (and smells worse than ABS when it's printing). I'm sure this is my heat settings/bed prep so for now i've switched to PETG and will fiddle with ASA more later. Ditched the masking tape layer on my bed I normally use with PLA in favor of a kapton tape sheet (which I had on there for printing with ASA) and the results are fantastic. Great adhesion, easy release and shiny glass like surface on the trim rings.

 

Stay safe. I will rest easier in about 60 days. Once we get through hurricane season here in S. FL.

Hey all. Update. Tracking is showing textured bed will be here today so printing will resume tomorrow. Been a crazy week hurricane scare but a miss and a flooded kitchen forcing us to move out so sorry about the delay but shit just keeps coming in wonderful 2020. I will have the first prints approved tomorrow eve and I think this will be the final product printed in petg. I have had no issues with painting just gotta do all the steps. Appreciate everyone’s patience this stuff takes a little time. I will respond via pm to everyone that has sent me a message I will begin with those who hit me first.

Much better. I have to agree on black over red but that is just my opinion that’s why I wanted to make sure they are paintable so people can do what they want.

 

Mine failed after one day in a hot car. I turned on AC and they blew right out! The heat flexed them too much. Will try again with a dif material

Sounds like pla to me. My first set did about the same didn’t blow out but very lose. Try petg seems to be holding up much better.
