    Hey guys,

    I’m inspired by this article:
    https://www.coastaloffroad.com/clearing-37-tires-on-a-toyota-tundra-at-any-ride-height/

Anyone else running 37s on stock suspension/lift? Please share your experience. I’m slowly reading through the dirty thirty thread, but haven’t come across any stock lift examples yet.

I just ordered 37s, and wheel spacers for stock wheels. I’m prepared to do an aggressive BMC, and already have an off road front bumper.

A mount relocation would probably be more ideal in your situation

there was a member that fit 37s on the stock 60mm wheel without doing a BMC on a small 2.5” lift, so I’m not sure if that’s needed.

Are you going to use the same tire and wheel combo they did? If not, YMMV

So essentially the coastal off road site is inaccurate?

Possibly. Not everything on the Internet is 100% true and it's been my experience with these trucks that YMMV is very very common.

I just had 315/70r18 (35.6") Yokohama MT'S with +25 wheels installed. 2.5" lift in the front. Pretty aggressive bmc. Still have some rubbing on the pinch weld. Didn't modify that, but I probably will have to.

Actually have some rubbing in the rear, too.

Are you referring to @king.cong.1119 ? His Tundra was on 37's without BMC. He ran a +35 offset, I believe.

I think higher offset is key for not doing a BMC:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/37s-are-on.10209/

Perhaps I can run a higher offset and get away with not having a lift, and doing a BMC + PWM.

He modded the UCA to use the stock offset wheels. Otherwise, you will rub on it. Even 295/70r18 tires barely clear the UCA with stock offset wheels.

I’ve been looking for a smaller spacer, to run +35 or +45 offset on stock wheels to clear UCA

The spacers have to be a certain width also. I believe they must be at least 1" for the studs to fit. Something like that. I don't know all the details.
But, there are many pieces of the puzzle to make things work right.

^ this. And keep in mind you’ll probably want to re-gear doing this. I recently put on 35s and feel that is the maximum degradation of performance I’m willing to accept regarding loss of power, ability to hold gear, etc.

Yep. I felt a huge difference on the jump from 295/70-18 to the 315/70-18. Didn't notice too much on stock to the 295/70

33s felt stock with tow haul - 34s had a slight decrease in performance but no real drivability difference - 35s I’m using tow haul and S5 to stay out of 6th gear on rolling terrain.

My truck also weighs 3.5 tons… so that doesn’t help.

Yeah, your truck is a lot heavier with your bumpers.
I'm using tow haul almost all the time now. I wish I would have monitored the tranny temps on this truck prior to the bigger tires. I was in the 220's going to Oracle yesterday. Went up the Rice Peak trail some. In 4 low with t/h, it actually stayed in the 201-203* range. Climbing some bigger hills I saw 217*. Not as bad as I thought it would be.
In the old truck I saw 240's* (give or take) going up the Mt. Lemmon highway. I'm assuming this truck will be worse than that.
