Stock gears here. Planning on running 5.29's with 35's once I'm not poor (likely quite some time). It'll make the eventual jump to 37's easier

I wanna say that @Downytide ran 5.29's with 35's at some point, I could be mistaken though

Did you have to use spacers to fit those tire size? They clear the UCA? I have a set of rock warrior wheels that I am waiting to put on but trying to decide on tire size.

With 315/70r17 and rock warriors you can fit with only removing the mudflaps. No lift no spacers in these photos (with no issues/rubbing). The big pro of this tire size over 35x12.5 is you can get Load C and D tires which are much lighter, it’s the OG “raptor” tire size.

oh yes, ran 5.29s for last 3 years, on 285/75r18 (skinny 35s) and now on 37s, it's well worth it, tons of pros:
    - better acceleration offline
    - better hwy passing
    - better towing
    - no gear hunting
    - better mpg

only downside is the slight whine when off throttle at around 50mph, would do it again.

I believe the volume knob on the radio can help with the whine

I’ve got stock gears and it doesn’t seem to slow it down. 0-60 in 4.5, 1/8 mile in 8.30 > 12.9 1/4 mile. If I want to cruise around at higher RPMs with more pep I have the option to leave it in S4 or S5 all the time. In S5 it probably runs the same highway RPMs as if I had 5.29 gears in 6th.

What tires are these? I see stock TRD Offroad wheels on your pic, is it right? Any mods to suspension to clear the wheel well?

I'm debating whether my next tire refresh would be again 33" or step up to 35". Would want to air down more in deep snow than my current 33" Grabber A/TX can safely do.

Yes - stock TRD OR wheels with no spacers. Tires are BFG HD Terrains. Front suspension mods are 6112 coil overs set at 1.9” lift. The tires don’t hit the upper control arm or the body mount. Can’t say for sure about front bumper since I had an aftermarket on there when these were installed.

Not size related, but I again stuck with choosing the tire. Running General Grabber A/TX now, they are superb on pavement (low noise, good traction), but tend to slide the truck sideways in deep snow, to a snow covered ditch, which is a problem for open diff Tundra. I don't want to sacrifice comfort, but need a better snow (and mud) traction. At the end, these LT AT tires are for wilderness, not highways. For highways it makes sense to buy appropriate tires.

    Eh :)
