Im assuming the only fix is gonna be going to 4.88 gears. Ive got a 4.6L and plan on going to 35s so id guess im gonna run into the same problem if not worse.

295’s (34.5) no issues. Several guys I run with have 37’s with no issues. You have 5.7?

Have heard of quite a few guys dropping back down to 33s because of gas mileage and drain on performance. Anytime I've ever gone up tire size on past trucks it feels like I'm towing a boat everywhere I go. This is why I'll probably stay at 275/70r18 or less.

I bought mine new from the dealer with 295’s so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but no issues that I can tell. Gets on the freeway like a bat out of hell.

Maybe give pedal commander a try? I hear it has a free trial period. If you're not caring for the way it drives send the PC back and then dump money on newer smaller tires? :notsure:

This is the reason I went with a 275/65/20 tire. It measures 34.1" tall but the 275mm contact area is relatively narrow which is a reasonable compromise. I'm averaging 14-15 mpg which is okay by me.

Pedal commander and DAP tune. I leave mine on sport +3 and mine still feels like I have plenty of power. My shit moves fast if I punch it. The DAP tune helped with my truck staying in gear longer on the hills in the Bay Area. I’m sure without both those mods she would be struggling. I still want gears to help my transmission in the long run, but for now I feel like I have enough get up and go. Gas mileage is crap but my truck weighs 6700 lbs with all my gear and 35s. Plus it’s a truck so...... it is what it is. That’s why I carry Jerry cans. 37s are in my future and will get gears at the same time.

Have you tried manually gear shifting to see how the tranny responds?....

Hmmm Mine gets up and goes still. Have 35x12.5r18. Granted the 11.7 MPG is less than stellar but she looks good Haha

Yeah I don't mind the mileage I'm used to it being garbage, but hunting for gears is annoying im Going to get the pedal commander, on my climb back home I put it in tow mode and the truck came to life! I couldn't believe it. If that's any inclination of what the pedal commander will be like that's what I was looking for it not being a dog anymore, 6th gear will come I guess lol

Mine never went into 6th even with the stock tires. Doesn't bother me, the TRD dual exhaust is music to my ears.
