Any one else put this much on their Tundra in a year?
Don't have a Tundra currently but I'm looking to get back into a Toyota due to the miles I put on for work.
I have had two Toyota pick ups in the past, my favorite was an '87 SC 4WD I couldn't kill it, but its been awhile.
I'm currently in a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 41K miles on it that are all mine. All good so far but wondering when the issues will start. Its also way to small for a family of five and 2 dogs so we never take it anywhere.

So anyone else out there put a ton of miles on a year? If so any recommendations of mods, etc...

Welcome from CO. I believe there are some folks who put that many miles a year. @ARamirez73

With the dogs and family, I’d recommend a camper shell. Not sure what kind of climate you live in, but putting the dog in the back has been a life saver for me when we travel. There’s a lot of innovation nowadays for keeping dogs warm or cool in a kennel.

I did just over 30,000 the first year. I use my truck for commuting to work and also for work going to meetings and construction sites etc. Over weekends it is our family vehicle since it is bigger and more comfortable than my wife's car (and the company card pays for the gas ;) ) We also use it for vacations and other road trips, but out of town I pay for the gas. We had two 3,000± mile family trips and another 1,200± mile trip during the year. The rest are in town work/commute/weekend trips.

Welcome! Just did 30K in a year. I travel roughly 100miles a day with my dog. The crewmax with a cap is perfect for my application. I put my Chessie and the GF's shepherd in the truck bed. And I have had 3 people in the back seat over 6'4 and they couldn't stop commenting on how much room they had. Yeah the MPG's aren't great but the gas fits in my budget and I love driving this thing!!

Ok, so this is awesome! Thanks for the replies!
Yes a camper shell is something we are thinking about.
Starting to look and seeing tons of low miles 18 and 17's in my area.

I don't see any reason to be concerned about putting 30k miles on a vehicle in a year versus spreading that out over a couple years. Just keep up with maintenance as usual.

Or maybe I'm missing something here?

Not that much. I get close to 20k.

It’s a lot of $$$$ filling this thing up all the time.

I did 52K miles in two years. I drive 75 miles a day round trip to and from work , and my wife carpools with me so we are saving the planet in the Tundra.

I used to put 100k a year on my Chevys when I was driving hotshot for the oil field a few years back. Use good oil and filters and keep up with your maintenance and I don't see why you can't get 30k consistently for years to come with a Yota.

I usually put between 30-40K a year on mine. My Tundra is three months old and I have 9K on it. No worries.

I guess its really a Jeep VS Toyota question of durability etc.
Never owned a Jeep before so can it go 300K with relatively minor issues, given that all regular maintenance is done? My travel changed for work so I probably bought the wrong vehicle.

I see a lot of Toyotas for sale with 200K + miles on them , still going strong and high value.
How many Jeeps/Fords/Chevys with 200K miles would you want to spend your money on?
I had a 2006 F150 FX4 Supercrew that was fully loaded . I swear , Ford programs those trucks to fall apart when the last payment is made and the OEM warranty runs out. At 120K miles , the whole front end 4WD system failed, exhaust manifold cracked , and the electrical system died.
Somehow , that truck knew ...

I'm just shy of 53k miles on my 2018. I use Amsoil signature series for the engine and differentials. I change the oil twice a year. I change the diffs, transfer case and drain and fill the transmission once a year. I've had zero problems and am completely satisfied with my tundra.

Got mine last fall and at 22k right now. Got this truck cause I knew I was gonna be racking up miles. Also, the shells with the full front opening is awesome with the full rear roll down window.

When you get to 100k with a chrysler product, problems arise. I wouldn't keep any American product past 100k.
