305/65r18 too heavy for truck...275/70r18 better?

So just had 305/65 Wildpeaks installed on a set of Method NV wheels. Awesome look, beautiful tire, quieter than you can believe for such an aggressive tire....but alas the truck has lost the sharp handling I loved when I bought it.

Part of this is no doubt width, part offset of wheel and part weight and diameter of new setup.

Would going to a 275/70R18 Wildpeak on the stock TRD wheels get me back that sharp feeling or will it still feel like a large tired domestic barge? weight on the stock LTX tires was 40.6lbs, 305s are 67 and 275/70 Wildpeaks are 61.

Acceleration is adequate for me, just looking for a more aggressive wheel well filling look for the truck without giving up the driving characteristics.

Anyone with direct experience I'd love to hear from you. I think Falken has a 30 day buy back deal so I shouldn't be out too much cash on this. imagine I can sell the NV's for close to what I paid given they have maybe 100 miles on them.

hate to give up the tough aggressive look but ultimately I value drive over looks.

    See fine print
I have same tires in that size. I felt the same until I put a trd rsb. Now it handles good again on the street!

Ever end up going with the 275 setup? I'm in the same boat and wondering how it compares.

I have not yet. Thinking I’ll get more wear from the stock tires before switching. Will most likely go with the 275/70 wildpeaks tho. They were so darn quiet.

I had 305/65 18's AT KO's and never felt like they held me back. A little numb handling, but it was never a sports car...

I decided I want taller and skinnier. I'm hoping 285/75 17 provides a little lower rolling resistance and so, quicker turning and better mpg's...

    We'll see...
