For me I would never be able to break even on gas even if I got a free commuter car. I don't drive much anyway. But between yearly property tax(I pay $1100 per year for my tundra), registration, insurance, I would spend more than I would on gas an maintenance for my tundra.

With now taking the kids everywhere to school and after school stuff I will save probably close to 70 dollars a month in gas alone . don't get me wrong every weekend the truck will be driven unless it's all salt road. And ik what you are talking about I lived in MA for 3 yrs things are a little different their

I feel for you though! As much as I love to drive the Tundra, gotta get some better mileage somewhere so you can save on gas for mods! I still have my Taco and a '98 Lexus with 268,000 miles, still going strong!

I drive 17,000 miles a year. get about 36 mpg with my leased 2018 Camry. Savings in gas almost cover the cost of the lease and I keep the miles off the Tundra.

It rides awesome really for such a small car I'm impressed I just couldn't pass it up. My wife's grandmother is who I bought it from it had sat for 6 months because she cant drive any longer. But I promised as long as it holds up my daughter will drive it to high school.

I bought a 97 Ciera from my mechanic 8 years ago to save on gas. Drove it twice and it was stolen in front of my house. The thieves took everything of value and had to scrap it for 200 bucks. 1200 dollar loss was a hard pill to swallow. I keep eyeing a different work car but keep on dwelling on the one that got away. If I keep on working out of town I might pull the trigger on something.

That's crazy. Have been debating on full coverage on this but for what I paid it's hard to justify it.

I literally removed the sticky plastic off the rear floor of this car today . it's got to be hard getting old and not driving unfortunately it was that time for my grandmother in law but the car was inside all its life I'm hoping not much has dry rot or anything.

I had the same dilemma with the Ciera. My insurance lady talked me into liability. Thankfully it wasn't a bigger hit but man it wasn't fun.

@Darkness I really dig that Golf. I'm 6'4" and they fit me pretty darn well.
