What do you need a diesel for, OP @CT1990 ?

I cant imagine I'd add anything that @ColoradoTJ hasn't, but unless you're towing 10k+ at least twice a week for 30mi distances or greater, you're likely better off with a 6.6L GM Gasser 2500 or 3500 or the ford 7.3L gasser 250/350 - based on your needs.

"Supercruise" is exactly what has been missing from trucks. That's exactly what we need...a family of five pulling a giant camper down the road with no hands on the wheel. Can't wait to see the lawsuit settlements that come from that after a couple of fiery crashes.

My good friend stopped by yesterday with his 2021 F350 Tremor (Lariat Sport/blackout package) 7.3L/10 spd with 5 Star tuning. That is one healthy beast.

Yesterday I also had to stop at three places for DEF fluid. Normally I stop at a truck stop and fuel there but the line of trucks would have taken hours.

    Things to think about.

We took it on a week long bachelor party in CO. We averaged 16 mpg stock.

Now he has a tune, lighter wheels, purchasing Centramatic wheel balancers, rear lowering kit (1.5" block removal). He leaves for LA this weekend. Interested in what he gets for fuel economy loaded down with supplies (hurricane repair on inlaws home).

I would trade a tundra in on any 1 ton diesel truck. I would not go 3/4 ton because your payload is crap. If you are buying a diesel, you can afford the $1700 additional cost of bumping up to a 1 ton. Not sure what your application is, but just my thoughts. All OEM's make a solid truck. And they all have make some trucks with issues. But Ford sucks the most

Supercruise has been pretty good, it only works on select roads that has been mapped via hd scanning and real time reaction from the computer, out of all the adaptive cruise systems (incld Autopilot), Supercruise is by far the most mature one.

Hey, weren't you on 5thgenram? your username looks familiar.

I vote Ram 2500 6.4 for lighter duty stuff. Gas mileage is decent better on highway and when towing than the Tundra but its worse if your in stop and go traffic. Overall very please with the truck not much to complain about.

Family and a lot of friends are in construction. Most have Chevy or GM diesels. They do break but they’re strong and overall do pretty good. Surprisingly out of all the landscapers, commercial powerline brush hogging, construction, masonry and mechanical small business owners friends of mine not a lot have Ford diesels in the 1 ton category. Most are gas 350s or they just have dump trucks. A lot have GMs if they’re diesels.
