How is your mpgs with those? I currently have 285/70"s but was thinking of moving up to the 285/75.

I do all around town and very little highway. I average about 11.2 mpg overall.

Yikes. I've been getting in the 15 mpg range with my 285/75 Toyo AT3s.

How do you do that lol? I'm running 285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers and average 13 to 13.5 if I'm lucky. Aren't the 285/75's quite large than the 70's?

About 3/4 of my work commute in about 70 mph and no traffic lights. I'm wondering what difference I would see moving from the 285/70 up to the 285/75. I know it would look quite a bit different.

My commute is mostly backroads (edit to add: mostly 40-50mph), not too many traffic lights and not too heavy traffic most days. I guess I'm relatively light on the throttle? If you dont have a corrected speedo, are you adjusting your mileage to account for the delta? My speedo is low by about 8%, so I adjust my mileage up accordingly.

AT3's are great tires. I am running RT trails. They have a pretty aggressive tread and are much louder than my AT3's were. Probably why i can't break 12mpg.

    Necro thread?

I have a set of 285/75/18 steelies that I have for offroading. I've used them once. I can tell the truck is working harder, and I can imagine the gas mileage will suffer accordingly.

But they sure look swell and give about 1.5" lift boost over stock tire size. :)

You have a 0 offset shot or two handy? Just picked up a set of 18x9s and curious which to go with, seems 285/75/18s are the best bet. I've yet to purchase a lift/UCAs yet, still brainstorming lol

I just realized that you are on a 0 offset as well. Did you have any rubbing on the body mount? I don't know if i want to stay with the 285/70, move up to the 285/75, or the 295/70. I'm not sure what the gas mileage will do moving up to either one of those.

I had 35x12.5x17's AT3's on zero offset methods. Slight rub on the body mount. And slight rub on the front fender even after a bumper spacer and doing some mods to the front fender liner pushing it back an additional inch. I ended up going with 18" Methods with +18 offset and 285/75/18's. No rubbing at all now. Ill post up some pics when I get home! I also did the BMC.

Gotcha. So I can get a rough guess by turning my wheels closest to the mounts and see how much room I have.

Are you running stock wheels? If your running aftermarket with a pos 35 or less you should not need any spacers. Here a pic with 0 offset 35's. Trying to dig for a side shot to show poke.

No spacers needed unless you want to poke way out

Awesome, no I plan to offroad and be as functional as possible on 18s, so 285/75 or 295/70 seems the ideal range. I figured the BMC would be needed at some point anyhow once 3", UCAs, and so on. 305/70 or 35x12.5 just seems too much for not enough, maybe I'm wrong

Heres the poke on a Method 701 17" 0 offset. This is with 285/70/17's before I upgraded to 35x12.5. 35's poke a little more.

Sweet, I actually need to find a set of lugs for my wheels, not sure where to look, just any 12x1.5 normal/extended and conical should work I think.

Is there any advantage to aluminum lugs vs steel, besides weight? Fancy lugs possibly alert the tire shop bobos to "be careful" maybe, and not impact the hell out of expensive aluminum wheels? Wishful thinking, but?

Yep....285/70/18's won't fit on mine without doing a chop. The pic is not at full lock, but full lock on the passenger side I can only get 1 finger in.

that's stock or with a lift? That can be finessed some with a heat gun, not fully "fixed" though lol

Its with a 4" front/2" rear lift. A heat gun won't work for this. It's right at the pinch weld and cab mount. The wheels are 0 offset.

Eeek, do you plan to add spacers or anything? That doesn't give me a warm-fuzzy at all just having bought some sweet 18x9s with 0-offset. 275/70 maybe but man.... :(

EDIT: I just saw your 2nd gen and I'm in a 23', hopefully a little better off.
