I never knew this tire size is only supposed to be mounted on at max 8-8.5 inch wheel. Discount mounted them on my 9 inch wheel without issue. I wonder how many on here are running them on a 9 inch wheel?

There are plenty of members that run this size on 9 inch wheels.

Im sure a lot do, including myself. I wasn’t aware the manufacturer says not to do it. Im not going to worry about it but I never thought about it when I bought the tires.

This is partly why I went with 285/70-18 instead, but it’s common enough to be recognized as not a significant issue

There are some in that size with the spec going up to 9 inch. Toyo ATIII and maybe the RG if I remember correctly

the only one I see in that size is the Ridge Grappler. BTW, I like that size. Are you pretty happy with it? Are you lifted at all and do you have any rubbing?

so far so good, I’ll probably change it up after this set but I’ve ran them for 25k and they look to have a ton of life left. Noisier than stock but nothing too bad. Better than my buddy’s KO2.

I’m lifted 3/1.5 and run over 4 degrees of caster with UCAs and have both trimmed fender liners plus BMC so I’m not a very good point of reference, though. No rubbing with 18x9 +0 and I should be able to clear quite a bit more

Damn! You are correct. Both of those say 7-8-9. Well done.

I am having Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT's put on my 18x9 SR8's in that size. The shop installing them who specialize in 4x4's and are very knowledgeable and reputable, said I would have no issues. I currently have 285/65R18 which are more expensive, and the 275's will fill out the wheel well better IMO.

I’ve descent swapped my 275/65r18 falken wildpeak at3w’s to an 18x9 method 305 with +25 offset. I had to look up Falken’s specs and it say those tires are ok up to 9” wheel width. I will probably stick with Falken wildpeaks on the next set when I hope to go 275/70r18 and level. Anyone know if a 285/70r18 that’s good? It would be nice to have peace of mind instead of being right on max width.

    Nothing but good stuff.
My 285/70 RG’s on scs ray10’s rub on my stock pro. I’ve been thinking about backing down to a 33x12.5 or a 275/70.
