the 3.4 TT has way more torque and lower torque than the 350, its apparent when driving it and especially towing, thats the non-hybrid I have so I cant comment on the hybrid but I bet thats even way more of a spread.

perhaps your larger and way heavier tires are to blame for some the perceived lack of torque or something.

and I easily get much better MPG without even trying, Im not much of a MPG guy but Ill take it.

try tow/tow+ if you want max torque with no torque management

    Little known fact:
Copulating apes have been known to run extremely fast while doing the nasty when it's consensual.
Can't imagine how fast they'd be if there was ape raping going on.

(Had to change dirty deed to nasty because it wanted to tag him. <---See?)

    It's true.
The 2025 has the factory 3" lift and 35x12.5
The 2009 has BDS 4.5" lift and 35x12.5

    The 2009 gave me 12.5mpg. I'm getting 14.5mpg from the 2025.
So +2 mpg but the '09 can turn the 35's faster and harder than the '25.
I understand I could be getting as much as 16mpg with stock tires. Still disappointing.

your also comparing a double cab to a crewmax, way heavier truck.

I think you need to temper your expectations, it's not apples to apples.

MPG is all over the map anyways, personally, I never really cared that much

I had a PIG 5.7 in my 2016, I got 12-13 city, 14-15 highway, and thats about it.

I get easily 16-17 city and 22+ highway so for me its a huge improvement , but again, I happen to have a pig 2016 and maybe this one is just a good one to an abnormal situation. I can do this pretty easy if I want, ( which I dont that often, I BOOOST, HA)

for me, this version has way more low end torque feeling, especially when towing, it makes the older one seem "heavy". the turbos are small and spool easy

but I liked all my tundras, also liked my Ram, sounded AWESOME Hemi + borla, decent build quality, etc. ZF 8 was tits.

Pretty sure it was on the Discovery Channel back in the '19's. It didn't look consensual, and that Sum-Bitch took off like a scalded dawg, if I recall, he may have had a slight limp too!!!

I have a 2020 Tundra but also have a turbo diesel F250, the turbo lag on the F250 was so bad I was always concerned about getting through intersections without getting hit. I ended up getting an SCT tuner, did an egr delete and straight piped it. On the performance tune there's almost no noticeable turbo lag. It'll boil the 35's to this day throttle only. Maybe it's too soon but I'd imagine a tuner (on out of warranty trucks only) would alleviate all the turbo lag issues in the twin turbo V6's. There may be a way to program a tune in the ECM already but I have no idea. When they do have tuners for those newer Tundra's we will see some badass trucks getting busy.

    Fill up tank range 550-575.

    Typical mileage 21-24 MPG.

Cold temps from 20-60 19-21 best MPG.

That if I drive normal. It really goes down when temps in upper teens or 20's. Like wise it suffers when air temps get close to 100 as well.

Actually the 2025 Crew Max is 50lbs lighter than the 2009 DC.
Same wheelbase. Maybe a tad more sheet metal and glass on the '25 Crew ...but the 5.7L probably out weighs the 3.4L by a hundred lbs or so.
I'm starting to think the 3.4TT has the power ... it just doesn't give it to you unless you have it in "Sport" mode or turn off traction control. I just need to remember to do those things at start up.
I played with it last night and it does drive much better in sport mode with TC turned off. Unfortunately that's not going to help the mpg's.
I hate the fact that the power is hiding. Just let me have it and I promise not to complain.

now try tow/tow+, there is still torque management in sport+

and its nice to have modes, they aren't hiding anything.

and if I messed up the weights, my fault, I assumed and guess I was wrong, I should have looked it up, I forgot the trimmed the fat with aluminum body panels etc here and there.

and who cares about Mpg, its a huge brick with almost 500 lbs of torque, just boost it and enjoy. It clearly isnt that important if you have a lift and 35"s
