It’s funny how you rarely see a previous Gen owner post in any threads in this section unless it’s a thread about an issue or possible issue.
Then here they come foaming at the mouth about “tOyotA drOpPeD tHe BalL”, “GlaD I StiLL hAvE mY 2018” “nEw gEn iS gaRbAge”

Seems obvious some of you just come around to keep fueling your reasoning for owning the inferior of the generations.
All while pretending last Gen didn’t have PLENTY of its own recalls and problems lmao.

So you point out the great things of the 3rd gen. I counter with my point. And this is your response. Your hilarious. Now the 2nd gen is inferior. Oh boy, your making my day even more enjoyable. Keep it up.

Keep it up. A, how does it feel to pay $15k over a 2.5 gen and get everything less of what I mentioned? And yes the V8 is very reliable.

This contest will be settled by transmission temperatures.

Sounds like the 22 is already the clear winner then since it actually has a transmission cooler.

LOL, the trans oil is ran to the radiator. It’s not a dedicated trans cooler. And from TFL
“This time the 2022 Tundra’s transmission fluid reached a temperature of 231 F. Compare it to the previous 2021 Tundra transmission temperature of 246 F (which towing a trailer of very similar weight”

Considering no cooler on the 21 and the temp was only 15* different. Puddle jumper.

Haven't seen that one but saw the recall for rear axles coming loose

If you've got a 2022 model year Tundra, consider taking a look under the rear end for diff leaks or loose nuts. Then, go ahead and chuck your VIN into the NHTSA recall search tool to verify whether you need to hit up the dealership. Truck safe out there.

Man, I’ve said it before, but some of these 3rd gen owners are very sensitive about their purchases.

    Nope.

We’re just tired of all the Gen 2 owners who only post in the Gen 3 section when it’s in regards to a possible issue and using that as their supposed reasoning as to why their Gen 2 is better.

Well this is the biggest c*ck fight I have witnessed in a while. Would I trade in my highly modified Gen2.5 for a Gen3? Absolutely not, never bought the first year of anything but looking at high prices for anything buying a new vehicle in my opinion is not a likely option. Once the vehicle is purchased then all the mods start and CHA MFing CHING a all of the options are outrageous not to mention lead times.

Is any Gen better than another? What are the metrics to decide what is better than another? Gather your data, start a new thread and see if an actual comparison can take place.

Hard to walk around in here with all the piss all over the place…

    Mods: Ongoing... probably never ending
Toyota is probably the one company you buy the first year and get great support/warranty. However, supply chains being as messed up as they are, the lack of skilled workers and huge delays... well... I feel bad for 3rd gen'rs having all these factory problems, can only hope they get fixed ASAP.

I do not know if this was aimed at me or not since I'm the OP but i was not trying to start a pissing match here. It was a simple question posted in the appropriate forum. I am a service advisor in a pretty heavy traffic dealer so i was just curious to see as i have not seen any of these issues here.

At the end of the day everyone buys what they want with their own hard earned money. There will always be haters no matter the situation whether its cars or whiskey. To each their own. People have always, are now, and will always talk sh*t.
