thanks for this - what is a CEL? This is the first I have heard regarding the aero dam. @Taikowaza what did you do? You have a non-hybrid, right?

I looked at that part and it says it is 6-8 weeks out.

CEL = Check Engine Light. I am very familiar with that term as I had a Land Rover Discovery Series II when I was in graduate school. I lived on the Land Rover forums and was always trying to figure out what could be wrong with it this time... CEL probably not as common for the toyota group!

Correct CEL is check engine light
I have non-hybrid with aero, left the air dam motor there plugged in but removed the big plastic dam until my CBI delete module came in and worked. First batch in Sept had issues, but seems to be fine now.

Thanks for the information- so basically I can do the installation as planned and add that after the fact? It’s odd that would t be mentioned or included with the kit.

I started to look at the Toyota parts diagram of the front suspension.

    upload_2022-12-19_13-52-0.jpg

I searched for "TRD Pro" and found the following parts:

    upload_2022-12-19_13-53-1.jpg

I"ll reach out to Sparks to try and confirm if these are the actual Fox shocks and the red coil springs -- and what the availability is.

Are you looking for the TRD Pro shocks for warranty purposes? I only ask because if not, aftermarket versions will almost certainly be better. I imagine the Foxes for the Pro are somewhat lower quality along the same lines as Wildpeaks being made differently than the ones you'd buy at a tire shop.

I made this comment because I would, seems wrongfully suspect, that concessions can be made to the performance of certain components to meet price points. That’s not to say unreliable by the way.

The TRD Pro Tacoma is the top trim for Tacoma. Period. It concedes zero features in the Tacoma line. Have one. Love it.

The TRD Pro Tundra is a Limited with suspension/cosmetic upgrades. It would be more than Capstone MSRP if it had higher trim features. I wish it had all the features. I’d be happy to buy it.

That is the logic for my comment; right, wrong, or indifferent.

    Your condescension is unnecessary.

The problem with this is you have assumed I stated ‘facts’ when I did nothing of the sort.

My comments were purely speculative and now we’ve gone a made a mountain out of a molehill.

A 1794 with the TRD Off Road package comes out to a little over $500 less than a Pro.

You mentioned earlier that the Fox Shocks alone come to $5000. Adding all the other Pro stuff to a truck outfitted like the 1794 could absolutely push past $10k as far as MSRP is concerned.

I am baseless and I didn’t realize you helped engineer the suspension. Thanks for bringing me above board.

My sexy girl is about done!
Tint and clear bra done now
    Trd lift installed
    35x12.50 falkens on method 305s
    Trd pro grill
Still waiting on backordered trd running boards.
Can’t believe how well this drives with the lift, well worth buying the trd lift in my opinion plus I love the red coils.

Does anyone have a good after lift and 35" tire measurements to the top of the sharkfin. I'm getting my lift installed soon and only have 86" of garage height

I just parked my truck in a parking garage- 6’ 10”. TRD lift and 35” BFGs. Felt like I was going to smash my pano glass but no contact.

Wow! That looks great @dutch2112 - the grill puts it over the top!

Mine went to the dealer today for installation. My champion wife continues to impress as she drove it up with her dad so they can start tomorrow vs. Wednesday which had been the scheduled date (I can't drive right now due to pending back surgery on the 27th).

@dutch2112 what did you do regarding @Maharisc 's comment about the aero dam? The dealer didn't comment on that, but I am talking to them in the AM before they start on it to make sure they do the sway bar correctly and going to push them to leave the fog lights.

    Thank you much man!

I get the wife thing as she totally made me order the truck and make it the way I want it! Good woman
I actually completely forgot to ask about the dam, they got fog lights working just fine (not sure what they did but I will ask) now on the skidplate I’m frustrated with their “resolution” I’m going to have my Ford senior master tech look at a better solution than this! 76A4B2B1-EE45-46BB-9BA4-500722033705.jpg

    Thanks my man!

Yeah there are many “fixes” even on this forum such as spacers, factory end links etc… little strange Toyota engineers “forgot” about it

    Lots of stuff!
Hi ryan, this is interesting. I was thinking about what happens to the swaybar when adding the Westcott 3/1 kit. I really couldn't find anything on Westcott's site about the swaybar. If the swaybar stays as is and the links are the same, that should work out fine. The Wescott solution should be my stop gap until next year when the kits hopefully become more common up here, and with luck the price comes down to earth! Dealer quoted me $5,500 CDN for the kit plus install!

I talked to the tech doing my install this morning and can tell they were working away on it today (thanks to Toyota app notification).

I communicated the sway bar / skid plate info and also the fog lights. Tech has a lifted Taco, so completely understood the fog lights and just said I need to sign a waiver when I pick it up - but all good leaving them. Can’t wait to get it back!

Great to hear and I hope it turns out awesome for you! I’m glad my fog lights work myself as that seems insane to not have them

Maybe I missed it, but is there a reason why this kit doesn't work on the TRP Sport? Or has anyone successfully installed this kit on TRD Sport? If it really can't be done, I'll have to look at Rough County, or Icon.

Nope! When I got the appointment all set (dropping it off Monday 12/26) the service coordinator person emailed and was like “Oh I can’t remember if I mentioned, but this lift is more labor intensive so the cost $2,500 but we are giving you a discount $1,985.” I responded with “Please have the service manager call me.” So he and I talked and I said look, I emailed saying what I wanted done and gave you the exact part number for the lift I was getting and wanting installed. It’s your job to research the part number and figure out how much labor is involved and then give me a quote based on that. I told him the new number was literally twice what I was originally quoted and if I was given that number upfront I wouldn’t have purchased the lift in the first place. He was understanding and said what can we do to make it right. I probably could have asked them to honor the original quote, but I told him I wanted them to take the proper amount of time to install and I wanted it done right. So I would meet them in the middle at $1,500 plus tax did the labor. He agreed. So I’ll be dropping it off Monday and should have it done next week.

Did you get yours back yet? Best of luck with your back surgery, hope everything goes smoothly for you! Back pain and issues are the worst.

well you still got a hell of a deal! And agree that you don’t want them “pissed” when they are working on it.

don’t have it back yet, but they’ve had it a few days, so maybe I will hear something today. Unfortunately I won’t be able to drive it for several weeks - but my wife will have fun with it.

will post pics when we get it back.

I have had my TRD lift for a little over a month now. I am loving it so far. I chose to use all the parts and relocate the sway bar. I don’t have the pro skid, just the trd skid plates, so the sway bar doesn’t really bother me, and articulation was more of a priority to me. I had also seen pics from the Sema build and the sway bar link ends were at pretty extreme angles without the drop, not sure if that had changed at all. At some point I am hoping to try an alternative solution and get them behind the skid plate.

I just picked up my Tundra a week ago - I worked the TRD lift into my purchase and it's getting installed next week.

As a newb owner, I don't know all the different nuance that goes with installing these. I know I'll lose my skid plates and I can ask them to leave the fogs. Anything else I should be considering?

You won’t necessarily lose your skid plates. If they install sway bar relocation, the sway bar will sit outside of your skid plates. Which is a bit strange and doesn’t really make sense, but it appears Toyota may have somehow overlooked this in design. If you choose not to relocate the sway bar, it will sit behind your skid plate like normal, but you may lose some travel in the suspension and put undo stress on sway bar links. Kind of a preference thing.

As far as the fog lights I am unsure how this lift would impact those. I have an SR5 TRD Off Road and there were no issues with the fog lights, or even mention of them with the install. I might be overlooking something, but can’t see how those parts could impact the lights.

the official install instructions say to remove the fog lights because theyll be above the legal height for fogs. Just tell them not to do that.
