Would you mind flexing the suspension a bit with the newer tires once you do? I expect *the truck I put deposit down but will walk away if the dealer pulls some BS* to arrive next month and am still on the fence about the lift.

APPLICATION NOTE #146: 22-UP TUNDRA SR5 EQUIPPED WITH TRD SPORT PACKAGE LIFT RANGE WILL BE 1.75-4"

So does this mean trd sport sr5 can run the OEM TRD lift or still unknown?

This is from the install instructions for the TDR Lift:

I find the wording of that confusing. As far as I can tell, the TRD Pro has the largest OEM and it’s a 285 65 R18. That notice is for a larger tire on a 20. Am I missing something?

That comment was for the previous poster running 35s on 20 wheels on his rig that has the TRD Lift and is talking about downsizing. Just providing some info he may not know about.

No worries. I was just explaining my confusion of that reference in general. It’s official and unclear.

I think wheel spacers in the front should solve your problem. It's the offset on the stock TRD off-road wheels that is causing the rubbing on the 35s. Wheel spacers are cheaper than new tires.

I was able to wrap mine into the original purchase contract. I found a local dealer offering for $2400 for the kit, total came out to $4200 with labor.

Which 35s were you trying to run? Curious as I am doing the lift and bought Nitto Ridge grapplers…same a SEMA truck. Hoping I don’t need to go smaller in tire, or might change my plan

Nice! Well Toyota called and explained how complex the lift is which made me giggle since I run two ford shops and we do various lifts all the time. I would have just had my techs do it in 1/4 of the time but warranty wise I stuck with Toyota

For your reference, my Platinum crew cab, non-air bag rear suspension, 4X4, hybrid is exactly 75" from ground to tip of the fin. Tires on the truck are Bridgestone Dueler H/T - 685 (265-60-20).

Today was the first day I've ever backed my truck into the garage (to unload tile). I noticed that the tip of the fin looked like it was closer to the opening of the garage door. So, when I was done unloading, I pulled the truck up to be in line with the garage door opening and it was 4 1/2", HOWEVER, when I pull the truck in forward the measurement is 5 3/4".

Haha ya that’s the run around I got today. They initially quoted me $900-$1,100 to do the install. I said great, I’ll get it ordered since they wanted full retail for the lift. They told me that would be fine and they would still install for that price. Well I went in on Tuesday to ask the master tech doing the install a few questions and made sure he understood I didn’t want the fog lights removed. Everything was great and all on the same page. Then today setting up the date to drop off the trucks, I get a “oh by the way I can’t remember if we talked about the labor time and it’s much more than we thought. The install is $2,500 but since we already told you something else we’ll give you a discount to $1,985.” I politely requested the service manager to call me. He did and we chatted about what had gone down and how at the very last minute they were literally doubling the cost. He understood, but said they could not do this for $1,000. I actually thought that was reasonable and don’t want them rushing and doing a crap job to just do it as fast as possible. So I agreed to split the difference and agreed to $1,500 for the install. I think that’s reasonable, but no idea what their actual labor rate is or how long it will take. So we’ll see. But they are going to mount, balance and do an alignment with my new tires as well as recalibrate all the safety sense stuff. Which I think most do as part of the install anyway (except maybe the tires). So all in all it’s going to cost me about $400 more than I planned, but I think I’ll still do ok.

Yeah I would have been pissed as hell lol. Glad it worked out a little cheaper though, still spendy and hilarious that it’s such a “big deal” lift!

Is there any way I can have this TRD lift installed but only have no more than 1 inch lift? Is it adjustable during the installation?

I like the improved shocks and steering components but don't want the lift.

I did KO2's 35/12.5/20 if i used a spacer and trimmed the mudflaps it may have fit or if i would have changed the rims with an offset maybe but i just decided to go down to 285/60/20 zero rubbing zero trimming

I don't think so. The front is variable from what I have heard, and has a high and medium setting (maybe it has low too), but the rear is essentially a spacer.

I have kinda same question, check my last post in this thread, the updated published tech notes say the TRD sport with this lift can have height of like 1.75-4 inches or something. Thought the front setup had 3 diff height settings? Still looking to find a owner that got this installed on their TRD sport 4x4

The Fox Pro shocks and the pre-installed coil springs for the front is all you would need correct? Should there be any modification to the rear in a TRD off-road? Should may be the wrong question. If only installing the front Fox pro shocks, would there be any issue leaving the rear stock?

I like the idea of Fox shocks, but that probably means that I won't be getting this done at the dealership as they probably won't want to install non official Trd kit components.

Let's imagine I'll get 4 x Fox Trd shocks, do they have a Low setting to make sure my truck won't be lifted more than an inch or so?

Well, I got good news. My TRD lift kit and TRD skid plate are now available for pick up. I bought through one dealership that had the lowest price in our area for both, but am taking it back to my local dealer where I bought the truck for installation.

While I will have them in hand tomorrow, I unfortunately hurt my back (nothing super crazy) and will be having a surgery on it right before the end of the year. So I had to move my install appointment out to Jan. 11th.

Can't wait to get it installed. Keeping stock 20" TRD OR wheels and putting Nitto Ridge Grapplers (35s) on them.

Until then, I will continue to nerd out on the equipment I need to do the chrome delete as I have a black 1794 OR 6.5' and there is a lot of chrome. If I do that, i will definitely go the way of replacing caps vs vinyl. Maybe the ChromeStoppers cap on the front when it comes out vs replacing the mustache with a painted color match. You all think chrome delete is the way to go?

I have my eyes set on going to the CBI Covert front and back bumpers as well. I just love this truck, but my wife is going to start getting jealous if I spend more money on mods vs. jewelry on her!

Agree. And make sure when you go pick up those parts you have someone ELSE load them in your truck for you! They are HEAVY... I almost threw out my back putting them in the bed of my truck last night

@DaAusie i was looking back at this post as I have the same truck in black - so you ended up removing the 35s? What brand were the 35s?

I have 35 ridge grapplers ordered - and haven’t seen others say there is running. LMK your thoughts. Also now that you’ve had the lift for a while, are you enjoying it?

Well guys, my wife is a champion. She picked up the lift kit and skid plate for me today about an hour North, and told me to move up my appointment. So I called the dealer doing the install and now I am scheduled to drop the rig off this Wednesday (12/21).

I also talked to service and will do a call with the assigned tech the day of the appointment. Going to ensure the do the sway bar correctly (under the plate) and push them to leave the fog lights connected.

Anything else I should tell the technician?

Only other thing I would ask is that they return all your original parts!

Since you have a non-hybrid 1794, they will need to do something with the aero dam or what others call air dam. Here's some pictures of what that looks like: https://www.tundras.com/threads/thi...e-air-dam-deployed.107297/page-4#post-2917259

The instructions says to delete it, but when they pull the motor, a CEL will happen unless you get an aero dam delete module from CBI: https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/tundra-front-active-spoiler-delete-module/
