Had dealer install TRD lift upon arrival. 20x9 +18 wheels arrive next week, and 35x12.50 BFG KO2’s.

Nice! But that lift sure makes the stock 20's look small. I'm putting 34's on my truck next week and still trying to pursuade my dealer to leave my fog lights alone so I can order the TRD lift. What is the current height of the truck with the stock tires (top of antenna)?

If anyone is in the NC (Charlotte) area.... Toyota of Gastonia is installing the TRD kit for 600.00. Ask for Jim in service.

Mine is there now, should be finished up today.

    All -

Need some advice. Just had the TRD lift installed on my '23 1794 with the short bed. Put BFG KO2's on it (285/65/20). Overall, rides pretty good. I definitely get some feedback in the steering wheel at lower speeds but not significant - and expected this given the lift and tire combo. However, when I get up to 65-70, I really start to get more feedback. Not terrible and completely driveable, but definitely noticeable. A little shudder and back and forth movement in the steering wheel. Anybody else have this experience? This is my first lift, so not sure if it is something to be expected or maybe they didn't get the alignment 100% right (or maybe something else in the setup).

    Appreciate any thoughts/experiences!

Vibrations the become pronounced at specific speed ranges are often an indication of poor wheel balancing. If you feel it in the steering wheel, it's usually one or both of the front wheels. If you feel it in your seat, it's usually the one or both of the rear wheels.

Since it started when you installed the new tires, I would have them rebalance the tires as a first step.

If the back & forth movement is enough to fight you at the steering wheel, then it could be an indication of a loose UCA bolt or the alignment bolts being loose. I would take it in early for your post install "retorque / torque check" appointment and have them check every bolt.

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
With a heavy AT tire I would consider a small amount is gonna be normal. I would have the tire balance checked again, KO 2'S have a rep for being hard to balance.

My dealer won’t warranty the install unless the kit is purchased from them. I asked about the warranty and got mixed answers from the same guy……says if I get the lift from them and have them install it they will honor the 3 year warranty. I asked them to get me a price on the install and they wouldn’t give me one and would not work with me on the price of the kit. Guess I’ll check other dealers. Information seems to be all over the place on this kit.

Fred Anderson in Raleigh quoted me $2500 for the kit and $1400 for labor.

It's their first OEM lift install so we'll see what they say as far as whether that price is repeatable after it's complete. I spoke to their service manager and he's pretty excited to get a chance to install one.

Had Maxxis Razr 285-65/R20 tires shipped to the dealer to swap out as well.

Truck scheduled to arrive in 2 weeks (fingers crossed) so will update with pics once complete.

I am looking at the Razr as well. Would love to hear what you think of them compared to any other AT tires you've ran in the past.

I don't have a lot of experience with AT/Hybrid tires. Have pretty much run Michelins for the last 15 years so I know there will be an adjustment to a more aggressive tread. Will post my impressions as soon as I have a few miles on them.

I don’t experience any vibration either - I would take it back to them ASAP…

81” to top of shark fin on stocks.
I asked to get all original parts back and leave fog lights alone, dealership said no problem. Put first 50 miles on it today, drove great.

TRD OEM Lift installed. Method 314 18x9 +18 on Open Country AT3 35/12.5/18 load D

Kit rides great. Tires aren't too hard.

My Passenger CV axel will need to be looked at but I'm very pleased with the kit.

Looks great! any rubbing? I am waiting on 20x9 +18 wheels to arrive and debating between 35x12.50 or 285/65’s. Sitting in stacks next to each other, 35’s seem more than 1” wider.

285 CM = 11.2" so they should be about an inch thinner than 35x12.5
