Stay safe over there. My and family and I go to Leavenworth every year for a few days before Christmas and it was some heavy snowfall while were there. I saw they closed SeaTac for a while as well because it was so bad!

Just had my trd lift kit install and the ride quality is awesome

-on stock 18” rims with 275/70/18 winter tires for the snow season with 35x12.5 x18 on methods for install in the spring

-ordered from Sparks (thank you!) as the kit is not available in Canada

-alignment done post install to factory spec

-the truck is throwing warning codes for accident avoidance system and parking brake etc. I had it into a dealer for a calibration but they have been unable to clear the codes. Apparently they had to send some pictures to a toyota canada tech

-does anyone have any insight on this? I have read all of this thread. Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks. I am loving the setup. They are 18” Vision with. 33s (275 70 R18). My next set will be 285 75 R18s. I don’t really want to take the hit to mpgs that 35s bring haha.

Sounds like they didn’t do the calibration right. I believe after the lift they have to realign or aim some of the safety sensors. I would guess they did this incorrectly if it is throwing codes. The parking break is a little bit of a head scratcher though… unless it’s connected to the safety system I suppose

    which 35s for the spring?

Post some pics of your rig w/ the lift.

glad to hear the ride quality is good. Sounds like waiting for this kit was the right way to go!

So I got an answer from a shop that the TRD lift kit will work on a 4x4 TRD Sport. It just won't work on the 4x2 sport. Hopefully this is correct as I am going to order it.

How many hours did the TRD Pro grill replacement project take you? Did you use an aftermarket (for sale on this forum) bracket to remount the front camera? Did that work okay?

What’s the average installed price most of you are getting? I have gone through the thread and have the totals from those that posted parts and labor. Not 5 minutes ago I received a quote of $6-7k installed. Thats $2500 for the kit and $3200ish for labor (20 hours@$162/hr). I quickly turned down that install. It would have gone on my 1794 that is due to be delivered mid Jan. I think I may live with a spacer for a bit.

Unfortunately I am spoiled due to running 2 service shops, I have a Toyota in my auto group so it was All employee cost and I didn’t have to lift a finger! I used all genuine Toyota parts due to this

I was able to wrap mine into the purchase. It was $4062.75 parts/install. They matched the price of a local supplier at $2375 and $1700 install

My install price is $2200 and hoping to pick it up completed today. it’s from the dealer I bought the vehicle from a year ago now.

I called around to a few other dealers in my area and they were all roughly the same - other than 1 dealer that clearly didn’t want to do it and told me $6-7k just did install.

I did buy the kit at a different dealer than where I am getting it installed as they had it on sale did $2400 vs my dealer than was at $3900 and wouldn’t go lower.

I’d be cautious on a spacer lift as it seems to be a worse ride - where is lift so far I have only seen praise. Unfortunately I am having back surgery on Wednesday and won’t be able to drive it for a month or two, but will provide my wife’s feedback on ride difference with the lift - she’s a picky one so curious about her opinion ;)

Mine just went to the dealer today. Originally quoted $900-$1,100 which I knew was low probably because they thought it was just a spacer lift even though I sent the part number for the kit. They then came back and said $1,985 for the install but since they had already quoted me much lower than that and changing it the last minute I talked them down to $1,500 for the install. I also bought the kit from an online parts seller for $2,400 shipped.

I have been told by my dealer there are toyota approved lift installers that can install this and they would be ok with it. If I end up buying my tundra this week than I'll find out what they charge. The lift really doesn't look hard to install, can't imagine a fully equipped shop with a lift would take more than a day to install and that's working slow.

$2450 from Sparks parts. $1350 for labor (13 hours they gave me a good deal on the labor rate) from dealer.

Thank you all that have replied so far on your installed prices. What each of you have paid is around what I was expecting from my dealer. Even the salesman said that price is too high. I’ll shop around at the other Toyota dealers even though I really hate to give a couple of them my business due to past experiences and I wanted to roll this into my purchase. Bbgunasassin I will be waiting to see what price you get from a Toyota approved installer.

So I'm curious. Has anyone had this installed on a vehicle with the "Load leveling rear height control air suspension". Lots of lifts, including this one, say they don't fit and I want more than a spacer lift, and not excited about buying to see if it fits. Thanks

Fun update. Talked to Service manager who said my truck is about 85% ready…but the spring compressor broke on them and that “the springs on this lift are quite tight”. Said they had to order parts to fix the compressor. ‍♂️

Still thinks tomorrow afternoon is a possibility. Anyway….

I bought the TRD lift with the purchase of my 2023 Platinum, so installation was included in the Toyota list price (just under $4k total). It looks like the dealer took some shortcuts; they didn't delete the fogs (thank God), and they didn't trim / reinstall the engine under covers. I'm going to poke around to make sure nothing serious was missed. I bought a TRD skid plate before realizing the lowered stabilizer bar would be in the way; has anyone tried to use spacers or trim the TRD skid plate to make it work?

Unfortunately, I wasn't privy to this info when I had the dealer install the TRD lift as part of my 2023 Platinum purchase agreement. Fortunately, they didn't remove my fog lights, but they did install the sway bar spacers. I (ignorantly) didn't ask them to keep the OEM parts for me when they installed the lift; does anyone know what parts I'll need to roll back the sway bar drop so I can install the TRD skid plate?

Glad to see this in progress (and good luck on surgery/quick recovery).

I have been traveling so no mod inquiries in past 6-8 weeks but by the time I take mine there they should have it fixed and more experienced (hope they don’t increase the install price due to now having a couple under their belts).

I have the TRD skid though…so really need for them to promise they can reuse the existing end links as I doubt they will install spacers or trim the plate.

I am ready to get rid of the spacer/pre-load collar I am running though.

It was ok while it lasted but every pothole or un-anticipated speed bump or deep bridge joint I hit I get reminded of how jarring( :eek2: )it can be and my DashCam beeps and start a ‘protected recording’ as it thinks the truck is in the middle of an event (accident or otherwise) :(

Your list of already done mods looks like my to-do list
…though I am weighing a bumper (covert or something like lilB’s ) and some TRD Pro camo flares also…wonder if the marker lights can be replaced with something like reflectors since I probably won’t wire anything but the lightbar in the grill.

I’m have more mods in mind than time (or money that I will need to justify to the spouse) so it’s gonna be a slow road so as not to attract domestic attention :D

I think that’s next for me too, need the light bar and those amber lights for the grill. Gloss black handles/tailgate are a must!
My kids got me the 3d “tundra” tailgate letters for Xmas as well

I have the same question. Did you end up selling your originals? I’m wondering if there will be more of a demand in a few years?

Still haven’t sold any of the parts, I haven’t advertised on ebay or other site. I’ve been focusing on my dechrome, and getting my cabin right again (I have a separate thread on this) after the TRD lift kit installers vaped and chewed in my truck during the week I had it at the dealership. Mateoairborne, if you have any success selling your original parts pls LMK where you advertised or sold, and how much you recommend asking. Many thanks!

I too just read your other post. It’s not my truck and I’m mad. You have shown remarkable restraint. Good luck with getting rid of the smell.

Hey big juice and Tundra17944Ever! Dudes I truly appreciate your kind words. I am going to get this matter resolved no matter what. You have all given me incredible confidence to not settle and ensure that I am totally happy.

I found this Toyota file and it has also given me an incredible amount of faith that dealers are required to ensure excellent service by Toyota (Japan). I am familiar with their Kaizen theory of constant improvement and I can tell you that in no way would anything like this ever happen in Japan. "Okyaku-sama wa Kami-sama(お客様は神様)"Customer is Priority" is a saying there (I've paraphrased it a bit) and they treat any Tundras (ESPECIALLY a brand new one) with gloves on (literally).

For a Toyota tech to mistreat a truck like this, it is unthinkable. I am bringing my truck in on Monday and will basically indicate that I need it made right by having the ventilation and headliner cleaned professionally (not at the dealership). I will also have my engine cover attachment point fixed, it no longer snaps in. And brakes squeak after the lift install. I believe that these techs do not belong in a Toyota dealership. Anyway I wanted to thank you again for your seriously strong support. I still can't believe this is happening but I can't stand not taking action one day further.
