So, I've had my new trd off road a week. Had already ordered trd pro gill, heretic amber fogs and decals, wheels tires and lift. AND, new headlights (upgraded LED'S found on upper trims and not an SR5 like mine) but when I was about to take off the other headlight I noticed this huge gapbetween the headlamp and fender. The same on the other side. Does anyone have this with their 22 tundra?? Seriously on a Toyota? Honestly all the gaps are overly larger than what you would expect on a 60k truck. Any thoughts?

Certainly something is stopping it from closing all the way?? Or the rubber stopper is turned up too high. Shocked it left the factory like that.

    Still rolling stock baby....

Question on the headlights, I was under the impression the wiring harness is different for the SR5 and higher trims? Or are they simple plug and play?

A wee bit more than 1/8" between the headlights and the fenders? Must be me but that seems acceptable. It's a truck that must be designed for some light work and off roading. Stuff gives.

from what i remember another forum member had the same issue. it was a mis aligned hood stop on one side or something to that effect.

I drove down to my local toyota dealer and they had two new Tundras. Both has the gap one better than mine one worse. I have been in the automotive retail business for 31 years in hilton head sc and I can tell you it is absolutely not acceptable. It is as poor as Teslas fit and finish which is the worst. Also, as most of you are aware the head light upgrade dose.t work. Canbus lines and new wiring harness. I thought I did my due diligence and the dealer told me they were compatible. 100% they are not.

That straight up look like a cheap aftermarket headlight that don’t fit right…there should be no gap at all…gaps is for moving parts, doors, hood and tailgate.

@Carguy912 So did the upgraded LED headlight end up working for your SR5 truck?

Looks to me like the gap is fine, but the seal on the headlight isn't sitting properly and is folded back under the light housing.

The toyota store was wrong. They absolutely won't fit. Canbus lines are required for headlights for self leveling.

In regards to the headlight gap...there is no seal. No gasket or rubber. I've removed both. There should be but. That I'm assuming will be the fix or an insert to cover the hole. Virtually like I stated earlier all that I've seen have same issue.

There should be rubber stoppers on each side that are adjustable. Have them on my Tacoma. You can just hand screw to the height needed to adjust hood lay. I imagine Tundras have something similar.

I put pictures in the thread. Its not the hood gaps it's on the fender where there is a visible hole on the side of the light. Should have a rubber molding.

hate to un zombie an old thread, but was looking at the front end and notice that the alignment on the hood to front rubber seal is off from passenger side to driver side along with the headlight gap.

driver vs pass hood gap and then driver vs pass headlight gap
