    Good Day,

Just went to Toyota Dealership last Friday. They informed to take it to another shop or use a cover... Ridiculous that they can't warranty this, especially being a Brand New Gen Truck. Doing Truck Things.

Is there a Toyota Complaints department, if everyone uses to petition this issue. So they can Recall the bed liner and actually get it done the right way?

Why spend over 50k (min), to not be able to utilize the truck to the fullest potential, out of factory.

Watching what these guys are doing at SEMA on these Tundra's are beautiful, but know that there bed liners are not built up to standards.

It's covered under warranty. My dealer got it approved to be replaced by a 3rd party. Haven't done it yet, just have to go pick up the repair order and take it to linex. I'd find a different dealer to go to. It took my guy like 10 minutes of phone calls to get it approved. Toyota is aware of the issue.

Go to another dealership. My dealer took pics immediately and had an approval back in 2 days. They sent the truck to the Line X guys who peeled out the completely crappy Toyota liner and sprayed in theirs... with a primer coat first, which Toyota does not do. Composite bed absolutely needs a primer coat.

I really thought it was just me. Exact same issue. The spray in liner is garbage.

I think we can all agree that bedlining a composite bed is a dumbshit idea anyhow. The Tacoma never had one. Toyota got the inkling to stay competitive and relevant in the 1/2 ton market. Try and make a quick buck. It even says in some of the paperwork that it’s easily repairable and warranted against damage. It’s really coming to bite them in the ass now isn’t it. Use a bed mat and be done with it. They’re tough as heck as it is! I abused my Tacoma for years. Ahh well. Live and learn.

Yes Linex weighs a considerable amount, I believe its 50-60lbs depending on bed length. The purpose of the composite bed was to reduce weight and side effect of no steel rusting or maintenance. At worst after 10 years of banging around a composite bed you’d go get it refinished with linex/etc in my opinion. So spraying a bed from the factory seems like a cash grab/safety blanket thing that is actually a negative in several ways. Long story short don’t purchase a spray liner for a composite bed when new.

Spray painting glossy plastic was always a big no no. Why would anyone think this would be different?

I was worried about the factory spray liner on my truck since I keep seeing others having issue, but surprisingly haven't had any issue with mine. My truck was built first Friday of January, picked it up in February, figured it would issues with the liner. 10 months now and 12K miles. No issue with my liner yet. Maybe I'm not using it hard enough. Was worried my 8 feet aluminum ramps for my motorcycles would scratch the liner when I slide it across the liner but pretty durable. Great for not slipping when loading a 400lb bike onto the bed. Only complaint is how aggressive it is. I was cringing when I had my snowboard in bed with fresh wax and I forgot to bring a blanket or something to place the boards on and I can hear it sliding around in the bed.
