It should be a crime against humanity to put a 22 gal tank in a truck.

Hmm… judging from all my DIY projects, when something is bound to go wrong.. it will… lol. That’s the part number I have been looking for. Just hoping someone with more experience than me does it first.

On my 2022 I had a SR5 Crewmax 2wd with the large tank and 295/60/20 falken wildpeaks with OEM limited wheels. I got right at 400 miles on DTE when filling up. On the new 23 SR5 Premium 4WD with the same tires and wheels swapped over I get 285 DTE everytime I fill up. Now I only have a 10 min drive to and from work and run out to grab lunch daily. So I don't drive enough distance to get better numbers. That said I got a good 2.3 weeks before filling up on the larger tank where the smaller is roughly 1.4 weeks. I had 3 3rd gen tacomas all with the 22 gallon tank so it is not a shocker to me at all and wife has a 2018 4runner with the same tank.

I wouldn’t really mind the smaller size tank if it wasn’t for the horrid towing mileage I get. It’s nice to drive 3-4 hrs without stopping when towing the RV

    Nitrogen filled tires!
22 gallon tank works for my needs - but then again I know I need to stop every 300 miles or so and fill up just to be on the safe side. So far I am very impressed with the MPG. Best so far was the loop from Cody WY through Yellowstone and back to Casper. 399 miles and averaged 26+ MPG. Speeds were lower than highway, but when it only used a little over 15 gallons I was shocked. Leg from Casper to Denver - 287 miles I averaged 22.5 MPG and speed was +80 mph. No towing yet - this was a break-in trip. Now as 1700 miles and doing a DYI oil/filter change. Towing soon.

I’d like to replace my 26 g tank with the 32g one on a 2010.

Or you can go with what I did on my '13 DC. 46-gal Transfer Flow aftermarket replacement. I've been running it for 5-1/2 years with zero issues. For towing a lot, it can't be beat.

Yup. I second that. I have the TF tank on my '07. Best investment for when I'm towing.
