In TX I’ve seen the odd Pro go for $5k under MSRP with $500-1k in accessories, but only ones that have sat on dealer lots for a bit, and not in the more desirable colors nor red interior.

Your opinion. Thankfully you dont control what market demands and Toyo produces to meet it

Looks like the $1500 incentive is back in April.

Tennessee is to far away plus I checked the dealership and they don't have ice cap with off road package.

Vegas area has a few and that is closer to me. I might settle for a silver truck.

Just went through Gonzalo Fernandez at Adams Toyota (KC, MO)
    2024 Limited in Silver:
    PVM/BSM Outer Mirrors,
    TRD Offroad Package,
    Bedliner,
    All-weather Mats

$9k under SRP, which was $54k OTD. Gonzalo is cool af. Straight-shooter, zero BS, very professional. Bought us lunch while we waited.

wow! How did you manage that?
I'm looking at almost 3000 off from the dealer advertised, plus the 1500 incentive plus another 1000 off

Do you think there is more room for negotiation?

A pickup that can’t operate in commonly found weather conditions in North America is severely lacking utility. I’ve seen RWD only trucks have trouble traversing wet grass.

    PATHETIC.

Killer deal on a Limited! $7k off is about the best I received around here for a low option Limited.

I am at $8.5k off MSRP ($9.5k off with Toyota incentive if I go that route) on a low option Platinum. One of the dealers did a swap last night with another that had the truck I wanted (a dealership that wouldnt come close to $8.5k off, too ha). Surprised me with that this morning. Now I just need to get rid of my Tacoma quickly.

I just called him, simple. Another member went through him, so I just referenced his price and got an emailed quote on the spot. Like I said, Gonzalo is pretty cool and he emailed me the quote. If you're willing to pick up in MO, go for it.

Btw, my truck was still being built, so I put $500 down to hold it. I literally bought it about an hour after it arrived.

That’s a smoking deal. Is it a 4x4? I’ve yet to see a discount like that. Congrats!

    Thanks. Yup, 4WD.

Not sure if they're under new management, but they were super easy to deal with. Far cry from SW FL...same truck was $70k OTD.

Well, let's not forget all the smart people going out and buying over priced trucks. Can't blame capitalism. At one point I thought the same as you, but if people have more money than brains then so be it. If people as a collective would have not traded in a perfectly running 20-21 truck for a 22 just to have the shiny new toy and let the manufs sit on those over priced trucks, things would be different.

Now those same buyers who just drove up prices on new and used vehicles are so upside down in them they’ll have to keep them until they’re paid off. Or otherwise take a bath getting rid of them.

    Good.

    Stupid should hurt.

Toyota sold 36,215 Tundras Q1. Up 31% year over year. So they are selling but still stacking up at some dealerships relative to last year. Maybe Toyo is not producing quite the right mix of models or allocating them as optimally by location. Toyotas algorithm of we know what customer wants better than the customer may be showing its age

That and slick boat ramps. 4x4 comes in handy.

Probably a combo of what you said and a few other things. If you look at the ADM and other threads (as well as the FB groups) some people were paying MSRP or more for Limiteds, Platinums, etc a year ago. Some places still had dealers doing ADM's of $5-10k and people were paying it. Now getting $6-8K off MSRP isnt that hard to deal really. Dealers are willing to compete against each other again (just went through it the past week with 6-7 different ones).

I think the other thing is now dealer lots are overflowing with Tundra's (at least here in OR) even with sales way up. They must have figured out the trucking issues that have been plaguing the auto industry the past few years as that used to be a huge bottleneck. I don't think production has increased all that much (if any) so I imagine less are sitting at the manufacturing overflow lots and more are making there way to dealer lots. I could be completely wrong though.

Ive had 4x4 pickups over 10 years. Never had to use 4x4 once. I’m in SoCal and don’t use boat ramps or go to the mountains. Went with 4x2 this time. Better gas mileage, cheaper insurance, cheaper maintenance, and about $8k less at purchase (4x4 had around $5k markup when I bought in early 2022). Makes sense for some people.

My same experience in deep south. Some think their use case for a vehicle is the same for everyone.

The fallout of the trade in value is impacting sales. Lot easier to swing a 60-70k truck when you are getting 40-50k+ for your old one. The economics start failing apart for a lot of people when you look at financing 40-50k at higher interest rates.

The broader truck market is flat or down. I posted the Toyo numbers for Q1 above. It appears Toyo is in Detroit mode produce metal they then have to discount to sale. Not the Toyota way to stick $10k on hood of a $65k truck to sell it.

Toyo is a niche player in full sizes. Entirely possible their buyer base is on average more well heeled than the Ford base that is 6x as big. So the customers are in the sidelines but not totally left the game

I think the Toyo regional port model and allocation system are all good in perfect seas. The broader customer environment is getting rocky and that is when issues arise with old business and sales methods.

I can confirm that I will not spend $65K+ on a truck unless it is exactly what I want. Toyota isn’t building what I am willing to buy, so they’re not getting my business.

That is my thinking. You have a 5% market share. You are a niche maker with a small but loyal clientele in this full size truck space.. But you cling to not taking custom orders like a mother to a newborn like you are mass producing for fleets like Ford.

The port and allocation model is not going to age well you can order your Apple or Google truck online and pick out whatever you want. Toyota is huge with $s time to modernize the old Cobol systems running on physical servers.

That could be some of it for sure. I know I would not be looking to buy a new truck right now even with the discount I have been offered if I didnt have another vehicle to sell first. I only feel good about it because my current truck is going to make me a very healthy profit even after 6+ years and 50k miles. And the 2.25% rate is a no brainer right now.

I've been looking at SR5s and limited with off-road package. They were plentiful for several months, starting in March they started to sell to where I can find one on lots here. They are selling before they hit the lots right now. I'm not sure about other trims. I don't think higher trims are selling. I know the dealer down the street is having a hard time selling hybrids.

Ahh, the good old boat ramp. I have been boating (jet skis/boats) for the last 30+ years. Never owned a 4x4. Never needed a 4x4, especially to pullout a jet ski or boat. If you know, you know. If not, then you need 4x4.
