I’m happy to report that since I just purchased a new tundra, new prices will drop, and rebates will appear once again.
And of course all the features I wanted, but decided I really didn’t “need” them will also be available. Lol

I truly have the gift of buzzard’s luck

    Thanks for your work Oldandfat.

With this news(Not a fan of chrome) I hope I can get white limited later this year or early next. If we can't can't get a little discount from MSRP I might have to stick with an SR5.

You just hold fast on that mortgage refinance then.

I want to see rates hit 12-15%.

inventory or not Toyota and Toyota dealerships are just being conservative with discounts/rebates/incentives. pre covid my local Toyota dealership’s inventories were no where close to the big 3 pre covid and current day. if Toyota doesn’t want to discount their overpriced vehicles just because of “inventory” then i genuinely believe that’s a poor excuse.

they do best pricing. they learned years ago that you make more money on making monthly/quarterly/yearly quota's from toyota regional kickbakcs than trying to nickel and dime every customer. they dont post the best pricing % discount, its just there. on avg its 4-7% of the msrp depending on the vehicle. havent seen it go below 5% but it use to go as high as 10-12%.

so when i factor in cost of a vehicle from them, i just removed 5% from the msrp to get my best price then work on trade in amount. ultimately my best price was 7.4% off msrp at the time. you can verify the paperwork in my sig link. i posted the actually paperwork from my deal.

Interesting to see Toyota only did this on the Limited trim. The SR5, Platinum and 1794 with Off-Road package still have their respective chrome treatments. I have the SR5 with TRD Off-Road, so it has the chrome mustache and rear bumper squares. I hated it at first, but now I don't really care. Being mine is silver, I think that helps; I'm not a fan of the high contrast colors, such as black or blue with chrome. Also, Mesquite is a beautiful color, but when it is engulfed in chrome = gross.

    So did mine.

We have cash. I want higher rates to drive more buyers out of the market, in fact truth be told I want a recession.

In my case I don’t want to pay cash for a vehicle, I want to pay cash for either a vacation home or a rental property.

Needs to get back to a buyers market. We have no leverage right now. People basically lined up with money. With manufacturers purposely holding back on production they are keeping demand high which in turn keeps people paying a premium. Though I hate to say it, a Recession would fix their wagons.
