Queue multiple threads of people complaining because they didn’t include a reactor cooler.

My previous 2009 Tacoma I got the Sport, all color matched. Back then there were no Limiteds and Platinums so you could get all the same features as the OR package including Bilsteins, except the locker, and lose all the chrome. IMO that was the best looking Tacoma. Now with Tundra the Sports are really hard to find and need to be opted up like the SR5s to get some "critical" creature comforts. Toyota finally color matching a Limited trim is big news. Someone there must love chrome and had to be coerced into this, I bet.

I hate chrome in any and all forms, but not enough strip, paint or wrap the chrome on my SR5. I am just gonna live with it for now. But it bugs me every time I walk out there.

There’s some “dark chrome” on my Platinum. Not ideal but I can live with it.

That is more tolerable for sure. I was trying to get the black chrome tipped TRD exhaust pipe but they are unavailable. But their "chrome guy" made sure to have plenty of the bright chrome ones in inventory. No thanks.

That’s a nasty price increase from last year. A bit over $3K increase in MSRP.

I guess Toyota can keep the damn truck, there’s certainly not $3K worth of upgrades. Just a strait cash grab.

But the market has shifted and you can generally get under MSRP now. At least down to the old MSRP. Maybe better. Which really is still too much for these. But whatcha gonna do if you need a truck?

I'm 67. Plastic chrome looks good on model cars. Real chrome was kuul but you rarely ever see it used anymore. Plastic chrome gives the illusion of a higher trim. It's still plastic.

It’s pretty much what I expected. People kept saying they wouldn’t buy as long as dealers were still charging MSRP or above.
Dealers will mark down now, but MSRP got raised so there’s no real net change. People who were waiting for the market to revert back to “normal” are still going to pay around the same price they would have a year ago.
It also looks like interest rates have gone up considerably so ultimately it’s going to cost more than it would have under last year’s conditions.

What I’m going to do is spend the money to keep my 2007 running and functional.

For $67,000 there’s a lot of of things I’d rather drive than a 1/2 ton pickup truck that is solidly mediocre within its class.

Then go hang out in the Audi forum. You might have some time for that in between visiting the gas station to refill that guzzler. LOL.

I get the drive something else for 67K, but come on now man, you never even drove one the last time I asked, be fair.

I drove them all and its not mediocre at all, The GM was absolutely shit inside as far as seats, couldn't even stand it, it rode and shifted like shit. The ford with all its fancy messaging seats broke down on the test drive , but the drivetrain was clunky as hell and two different ones I drove.

so no, the tundra was more than mediocre, it was the nicest riding, best transmission, great power, great features, more payload and towing than my last truck, super quiet inside truck out there.

some manufactures are offering rebates/incentives/special interest rates current day. Toyota has and is always more on the conservative end chief.

    Lots of stuff!
My Limited came with a fake chrome moustache (painted silver) and the rear bumper panels are fake chrome as well. Only chrome is: door handles, tail gate handle and lettering.

These would look great on a silver truck but not on a black one! These 2 items are next to go black. I should have it completely blacked out by the time the main bearings pack it in :)

There’s not enough time in the world for a single individual to absorb all the information regarding horrendous reliability on an Audi (or other German marque) forum. A super computer has a better chance of fully calculating for [IMG]than tabulating all of that information.

Fair enough. I think my problem is that the entire 1/2 ton pickup truck market seems to have lost the plot. Nothing is a good value, and they’re all trying to be luxury SUV’s with a bed, which begs the question why not just buy a luxury SUV and add it to the fleet if one already has an older functional 1/2 ton?

I was hoping the 3rd Gen Tundra would have offered a lot more given the long wait.

Maybe so, but I just want to have a little time to enjoy my POS 3rd gen in peace and quiet without being constantly reminded how shitty and overpriced it is. /s

I thought about a SUV for a few mins, looked at the new sequoia and they totally shit the bed with the rear cargo space, its non existent. So even that thought doesn't work.

Im about to load up for two weeks up north towing my boat, family of 4, and there is just not enough room in that sequoia at all, so Im super glad I have a truck and tundra instead.

I do like the platinum trim with all the goodies, but I do like having a truck and truck bed, it's kinda like a Swiss army knife for me. It can handle all the truck stuff , vacation stuff, but also is super nice if I have to take clients out, etc. Also a great write off for my Busniess, so for me, I do like the new trucks and how nice they are.

That said, I get for the guys that want more traditional work truck type thing, there is just not much value in the market there compared to the older days, for sure, Im with you on that.

for that stuff, we use a base model Transit 350 High roof, and others like that for my Busniess. It has 4K in payload.
