Recently wired up a lightbar for my Tundra but into a small problem. I got the lights to work but they are always on when the truck is on. I installed an OEM style switch from R4T with the intention of being able to turn it on and off but it doesn't seem to work. Attached is how I ran the wires for the light bar and switch. Any idea as to why the button won't work?

you could start by checking to see if the switch itself is faulty. remove the power wires from the switch and manually complete the circuit and see if the lights power on and off. if they do, then you have a bad switch. if theyre staying on no matter what, then youve wired the switch in the wrong place and the circuit is always receiving power

Pretty sure red is your "switched power" and should connect to 86. Green is your "supply and indicator" tap into blue or straight from fuse. Yellow is "nighttime ambient" should tap into brown wire on any existing switch. Always takes my a few tries to map it in my head.... Including nowScreenshot_20241128_073333_Chrome.jpg

First just wanted to say thanks for the help. As for an update this is what I've tried so far. I've unplugged the wiring harness from the switch itself and the light bar remains on regardless, not sure if that's of any significance. I've also tried switching the red and green wires but no success. I have noticed that regardless as to which wire gets connected to the fuse box, the relay instantly will turn on. I also want to note that the backlight for the switch is not on, but the indicator light is.

    Battery to 30

    Powered switch to 86

    Ground to 85

Both 87 to devices IE if you have 2 fog lights, 2 back up lights. If its 1 light bar then connect it to a single 87

Note: When I ever I hook a relay to a light source I tap the high beam wire and connect to 86. So when I turn on my high beams , the light bar fires on

Alright so I finally got it figured out. Thank you all for your input. Problem was when I initially did the wiring I heat shrink-ed both the red and green wires with one big sleeve when I made the connection with the other wire not thinking it would cause any issues(I've never wired anything before in my life so this was a first time experience). I have now separated them and just wrapped them separately with electrical tape.
