Hows the sound coming out of those intakes, can you hear the turbos more?

 

Just got mine a couple days ago. You can certainly hear the turbos, exhaust has nice burble, but does drone at times (tolerable), and the tune is definitely worth scooting around town. I am not sure on the top end yet, as I have only 50 miles. I came from a Capstone. This is my seat of the pants perspective.

Most definitely...you can hear the turbos spooling and the wastegate when you let off. Definitely noticeable.

 

Wonder if you could just do intake and tune. I really don’t want drone. Especially when towing for 8 hours

 

I went with a different exhaust and have zero drone. Just completed 6 hours each way of towing my camper and zero issues or drone. I have the Borla S-type.

 

I find it hard to believe that conical cotton air filter has any more surface area or flow than the OEM TRD filters? Maybe the duct pipe between the air box and MAF sensor is larger diameter?

 

I was thinking the same thing, how much better can it be than the stock intakes? The duct on the TRD's must be wider thus why it will throw codes if you don't get the tune. I'm still on the fence, would be cool to have but not when politicians decide to raise the gas prices.

What’s considered a “late build” 24 model?

That is supposedly the applicable date for this mod so is there like a cutoff date or something?

Is it a PCM/ECM change and/or software change?

 

They must flow incredibly well (Trd PP air intakes) if they throw a code but the AEM and Stillen don't, wonder if the TRD PP exhaust would set a code alone without software update?

 

It is just a Calibration flash, but it is specific to certain ECU part numbers.

As stated above, the calibration is only compatible with mid-year 2024 builds.

 

get the Stillen Tru-Control for $700 and keep the rest of the $3400 in your pocket, you'll get twice the performance increase at the wheels at 1/5 the $
