2024 TRD Performance Package

Mine didn’t, was able to order it and TRD Performance Badge

 

I want the tune and intake, I have a pro but don't want to change the exhaust. Thanks for all the info in the thread. I wonder if a dyno would know the difference from the pro exhaust to the TRD.... I like to think the majority of gains are from the tune/intake, but could be wrong on that.

 

From what I have skimmed the intakes will throw a code without the tune ugh calibration. No other intake or filter setup seems to and no exhaust either so yes the gains seem to be from improved intake less restriction on the full TRD Setup.

Same here. Mine only came with a card to put in the glove box stating that it required 91 or higher. I had to order from several different places to get the badge and sticker because they kept getting cancelled by Toyota. Finally got one dealership to successfully place the order.

 

When i recieved my kit, i thought the sticker was absent however it was in a cardboard envolope stuck to the side of the box, i almost tossed it out

So went by my dealer as we are going to trade in the wife's 4runner for a 25 tundra 1794. Sales manager informed that one of the techs just came back from training and they will be offering a dealer installed performance package upgrade later this year for all 2024's just not right now as they are pushing it on the 25's. So thats a change from what they originally told me. So cant wait to get this done on my 24

 

I kind of like only paying $2.70 for 87 Octane....

 

We shall see. Toyota Corporate just sent out a letter to all parts department telling them to stop trying to order the intake kit. They also took the kit off of https://www.trdusa.com.

They could solve all this real quick: an octane sensor that switches maps.

 

Yes they do have a stop sale on the items that go into the the performance package and pulled the parts from us normal people being able to see them and order them. I asked that very question at the dealer. It was stated from toyota that dealers should do this as the focus is for the 25's Tundra's and sequoia's. They want to move the 25's and have the parts available so if someone wants the package it will be available. Safe to say its also a marketing thing where they know us who have a 24 will either wait for the package to come available later this year for us to put on and have the computer "flashed" or trade it in on a 25 with the package. Was also informed that if the work is done at the dealer it wont void the warranty. Also asked if we were to put on a different exhaust would that change things or void the warranty. I was told no. The big thing on the kit is the intake and the "flash". They know there's better exhaust out there and cheaper than the toyota performance exhaust. Anything from the manifold back wont void the warranty even if we do it ourselves.

 

I got the TRD performance package exhaust put on yesterday and it made a huge difference.
My package is complete. I can now add the 3400$ to the resale if I ever trade
I did it for 1/2 the cost. Love it. If there is a will there is a way.

I had the TRD exhaust with my performance package and sold it and bought the AWE exhaust, which In my opinion sounds a whole lot better and feels slightly smoother.

 

How’s the noise level inside? Just saw the awe video on YouTube and it sounds really nice.

 

It’s mostly quiet, the TRD exhaust had a drone, the AWE does not. I don’t really notice it until I get on the throttle. It sounds really good when you’re up around 2.5-4k rpm and when the truck shifts. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it, it reminds me of the Nissan V6 GTR’s. I’d buy it again tbh, I also like the look of the dual tips over the TRD exhaust. I also had my fake engine noise turned off, my truck is a 2024 and I had the performance package added later and ended up selling the TRD exhaust.

 

Based purely on YouTube videos, the AWE and dirty deeds are the two best sounding exhaust for our 3rd gen’s.

Is there really no drone with the AWE? Any areas in the RPM range that don’t sound that great to you?

 

Where did you acquire the center pipe?

 

It was difficult to say the least. A buddy helped me is all I can say. If you want it, find a nice Toyota dealer that is willing to go the extra mile for you.

 

It’s very minimal and virtually none on the freeway and constant rpm. It sounds very good at just about every rpm, on startup, it’s a little loud, but you can easily live with it.

I bought my 2024 1794 LE in may. I had the TRD Performance Package installed in June last summer by my local dealer. I went with the TRD PRO dual exhaust instead of the octagon exhaust. Download, CAI TRD, and full exhaust system. When did they stop letting dealers install the TRD Performance Package ?

 

October/November 2024

Toyota even sent dealers an official statement to stop trying to order the TRD Intake Kit and gave them specific part numbers for each part of the intake kit for service. That statement was sent February 6, 2025.

 

I guess I got lucky.

 

You and a few others were able to get it installed and calibration flashed.
