I get it, the good thing is you don't have to buy one, just drive what you have and be happy.

its a shit deal with the recall for sure, but shit happens, Toyota stepped up, it is what it is.

as far as the OP, every manufacturer makes a lemon from time to time, sucks for sure, its comical at this point.

They just need to drop the new long block in there and stop fucking around.

FWIW, I had the same thing with the fuel pump fiasco on the my 2016 gen 2.5, it was my turn and it took a shit along with the ECU, it can happen to anything it seems

    Lots of stuff!
    Thanks AZBaldy,

We really like the Tundra and how smooth it is for a truck. We ventured back to Toyota when the Gen 3 came out and with the good reputation we decided to get a Tundra. We waited till almost the end of the 22 model year figuring that the bugs would be worked out.

We are not into flip vehicles every year and we usually keep them past their warranties. As we slow our business down and look at spending more time pulling our trailer around North America, we need a truck that we can trust (misplaced or not). We tried to get an updated Tundra but that is when things got worse. The dealership showed us what they are all about and Toyota Canada demonstrated that they have no customer service at all.

Basically, we paid for a Beta Test vehicle and when we attempted to get the public release version. we found that our's had lost 40% of its value. Toyota didn't want it back! This is what we really couldn't understand. A 22 Limited with only 4,600 miles on it and a new engine coming!. So here we are now leaving Toyota after 2 years!

Hopefully this new one will fit that requirement. Rolling the dice again!

end of 22 wasn't long enough to wait IMO on the general average.

I was tracking everything super close here and it was right about march/April 23 that things really cleaned up , again on the average.

I stayed on the sidelines during the turbo fiasco, that was really unfortunate right at the beginning of the rollout, did damage to the tundra roll out for sure.

made me at least go test, the GMC, and ford. was really close to buying the Ford but had a fiasco there and decided to just wait for toyota to clean up the builds and mine has been great so far, so good I waited and got my 5th tundra (so far anyways)

what are you going with? GM backpain seats? HA

I hear you. Hate to say it but reliability matters to those who hold onto vehicles. For those who buy and sell every 2-3 years with under 50k miles on their vehicles it's not really a concern. I tend to buy and hang onto stuff for a long time or until my use case dictates I need to make a change. I totally get where you are coming from and why you are making the decisions that you have/will be. I would be in the same boat myself.

Ya, I agree that the 23's and 24's should be more solid. That is what we tried for, but that's when the gut punch happened! The Tundra wasn't the reason as we were sitting on it and waiting (somewhat patiently). It was how the dealership and Toyota Canada showed their true colors.

I would have liked to see them show as much loyalty to the brand as I did!

They certainly aren't that same as your Toyota. At least you have some means to take them to task and they respect that. We don't have any consumer protection up here.

In a nut shell, Toyota Canada made us feel like the engine issue was our fault!

I'm surprised auto manufacturers don't hold dealerships more accountable for their shady practices/poor customer service. I know they are a separate business and entity from the manufacturer but they have a massive impact on how a brand is perceived and play a huge role in individual purchasing decisions.

I'm a huge Toyota guy, if the dealers within a 50 mile radius all sucked it would have a material impact on the decision to buy a new Toyota or not and where I would take it for service if/when needed.

Oem tonneau, side steps, spray in liner. Trd skidplate.
It's a lot like my business, I subcontract to modular and manufactured home factory's and do warranty service. The shit the retail centers do to the houses that the factory ends up fixing is crazy but they have to have someone to move the product so it just keeps happening....
