Sales Manager: We can do it for 55k.
Salesman: He said the most he’ll pay is 60k.
Sales Manager: Tell him 65k, see if he bites. If not, let him negotiate you down to 60k if you have to, but I bet we can get him to pay more.

Finance Manager: His payment will be $500 per month.
Salesman: He said he won’t pay more than $600 per month.
Finance Manager: Tell him we had to fight for it, but we got the bank to agree to $600 per month.

    Look, i can't afford anything over $500 a month.

Well, we fought for it and worked them down, and got you to $525 a month. Best we can do. *turns a 5 year loan into a 7 year loan*

Exactly. I guarantee they get more than “most I’ll pay” 99% of the time.

They love first time lease folks. I can hand calculate a lease too. I caught my 2018 crv lease payment off by $7 per month. I made them correct it and blamed a starter error

Went to the local dealer near Austin, TX. They had a silver crewmax OR in stock, MSRP was around 60k. I just went to test drive and take a look. Didn't really negotiate and they offered 3.5k off. The first offer is usually negotiable btw.

Didn't buy, just taking a look and still deciding. Would like a truck since I do outdoor stuff but the 4R has been OK for that so far.

well if you got a T4R w/o 3rd row, get a nice cover for the rear and you are good to go. i leave my 2nd row down 95% of time anyway since i never haul anyone in mine. and i specifically requested i got mine w/o a 3rd row. the dogs love it when i crack the rear roll down on trips.

I just bought a 2023 crewmax sr5 TRD with a few manufacturers add ons in Lunar Rock and got 2k off MSRP. They werent very happy doing it but i was 100% ready to walk (Actually was already home when they called me back) then i said 1k more for my trade and deal. So i came back and drove it home.

Hey, new member here. Just signed deal on a new 2023 to replace my 2006 Double-cab. Was able to get new truck at straight MSRP with the $899 dealer fee TTL. Was a straight purchase with no trade. Salesman even said to me he was grateful there was no trade, because the market is so upside down in used cars it complicates everything.

Wondering how folks are finding/found deals under MSRP? I searched pretty much the whole East coast, as I'm in SC, and found very few dealers who were even willing to sell at straight MSRP without all of their BS adds for tint, protective coatings, etching, Lojack, etc. The gulf coast dealer network is the absolute worst when it comes to the BS adds which is why I got my deal in Virginia.

The only deals under MSRP that were offered during my exhaustive search for last 3 weeks were for low optioned trucks that have been on the lot for more than 3 weeks or trucks overloaded with $2000 in port installed options that are probably 75% profit and give the dealer "negotiating room".

I paid a broker to find what I wanted. Much easier for me. By the time I paid the broker I got about $5K off list on a 1794 that didn't have any of the BS protection package options. I didn't shop the different trims but the Platinums and 1794's had the best discounts when I bought 3 weeks ago.

Don’t ever pay MSRP. Find a large volume dealer with a bunch of Tundra’s on the lot and drive there to make your deal. I saved 6k

I just flew to Traverse City, MI today to buy from Serra Toyota. For whatever reason they don’t advertise on Autotrader - I only found them because my local dealer didn’t have what I wanted and they pointed me to Serra. Zero pressure from my sales guy, Snoop and he was great to work with. I’ve worked in sales myself for a long time and get irritated pretty easily when I’m being sold to. I experienced none of that with Snoop. A little hiccup with the truck when I got there but the sales manager exceeded my expectations to make it right without me even pushing. F&I guy was even great to work with - zero pressure on anything. I was out the door under MSRP and drove it home 8 hours. They have probably 20 tundras in stock:

I just bought my 2023 Platinum Crew Max Wednesday on the last day of the month (which helps).

The sticker price was $66,876 and I paid $60,000.

Deals are out there if you're patient and time it right.

That was well bought and well done!

Toyota announced they are increasing Tundra production 25%. I'm also seeing more units in transit. It should make pricing a little more flexible and trucks more available. On line 2, F150's are stacking up at the Ford dealer as their production is catching up. They've increased prices pretty dramatically and I predict they'll be back to their big discount ways soon.

Prices are coming down. I bought my 22 Limited used with 15k miles for $51K out the door. Its has all the options (non trd options) also including sunroof and tech package.

Hmmm. Very interesting indeed. Anyone got a bill of sale they can post for bragging rights? Maybe a championship title for the Under MSRP King.

I’m in PA. I got my deal of $2000 under MSRP on a loaded up limited hybrid. The truck isn’t even on the lot yet, was supposed to be last week but still hasn’t arrived.

I’ll play. This was for a ‘23 SR, CM, 4x4 with an MSRP of $45,749…so 7% under MSRP. I’m sure others with a higher MSRP were able to do even better as those trucks have more margin in them.

Bought my SR5 last week, MSRP at just under 56K and got it for 53K, dealer had it already marked down and happened to be 25 min from home. Crazy part is, the day before, I was literally halfway through the paperwork at a farther dealer on a 2022 SR5 with 5k miles on it before I decided to walk. Worked out way better in the end as I got power Softex seats with the 14in screen along with a few other extras.

sure, I attached what was included in my truck. Honestly pretty close to perfect for what I needed it for, and I don’t have to dechrome any major pieces!

I am currently looking at tundras and your truck is exactly what I would buy. Problem with gulf states is they force crap on you that is useless. Bag of cell phone chargers for 200 that I already have 20 of. Ball mount for 90 that I have 5 of. Haven't even pulled a trailer in a few years.

yea that’s crazy! I def consider myself lucky with this find, especially with Koons being so close to my house.

Here she is, a week into ownership. Added Bakflip MX4, rb20 slims, and tints all around (minus windshield until I get my inspection stickers put on). Lift and wheels to come in coming weeks.

Agree the JBL system should be a discount. It really is embarrassing. My Sequoia and my wires Sienna have JBL systems and they rock. The Tundras JBL system is TERRIBLE.

    1. It is terrible as it
    2. Is much harder to upgrade because of the weird JBL digital signals and amp combo.
