If you’re not planning on modifying your suspension for larger wheels then I would recommend it. Nice to be able to change the ride quality and technically it helps level the bed for heavier loads (towing or not). But…it severely limits your suspension options (the factory TRD 3” front/rear leveling lift kit is not compatible with the advanced package).

I have the RC 1.75 level now with Toyo OC 285/65/20 which I would have tires swapped by dealer.

I would want to level the front, probably go CornFed 1.5 this time.

I moved up from 22 Lmt DC 6.5 TRD-OR to 23 Plat CM 5.5 and in doing so, I also have the Adv Package. The HUD is something I'm really digging and the extra pavement (drive settings) are nice - Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Sport+, Custom. Worth it? Yes
And the Adv Package is usually piared with the power running boards and powered bed step.

comfort is about the only setting for long drives (really softens expansion joints and small imperfections on the highway). normal is rough after using comfort. sport just turns the truck into tow/haul mode from the previous gen.

I drive in comfort all the time, unless I'm feeling spicy, then it's straight to Sport+. Toyota should change the order to ECO, Normal, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, Custom. Less clicks between my desired ride choices.

or just build a custom setting and just leave it that :)

    comfort shocks, sport engine/trans

then just click down for sport + from custom

its easier to click down from custom than to click up to sport+ from comfort.

    :)

So if I go into the Head Panel and in settings make adjustments to Power, Suspension, and Steering, these settings are applied in the Custom mode select switch?

Yes. My custom is Eco for the engine / Comfort for the suspension / normal . I never use it because ECO blows.....my mileage got worse LOL

yeah i see your point, poorly worded on my part. it was discussed in another thread and i showed screenshots from the HU where i only have the 2 options on the shocks.

that was the only thing i wanted to select in custom mode, comfort shocks, sport trans, sport engine.

My Platinum is in the shop right now where they are diagnosing the air suspension. Im the second owner and every since I owned it I always thought it rode like crap. At one point I decided to cycle the air suspension and my truck got stuck in the high position(even though the dash said it was at the neutral height). Took it to the shop and a new AVS computer didnt fix the issue. I was told there is one more part they can try to replace. If that doesnt fix the issue the whole system has to be removed and a Toyota rep needs to come in and help diagnose the issue part by part. I did get a loaner SR5 and Im shocked at how much better that truck rides than my Platinum.

With my 1794 it rode like a tank until I crawled under it and adjusted the OEM arms. Then rode like it should. It does bottom out ( axle stops) in comfort mode if the dip is big enough

Once I get my truck back, maybe I should switch to normal or sport mode then? Ive been riding in comfort mode and have been hitting the bump stops a lot. Part of that though has to do with my air suspension being messed up. Even though it said it was at neutral height, it was riding in the "low" mode all the time. I crawled under the truck and I couldnt even stick my pinky between the axle and the bump stop.

So I am away right now so can’t measure the bump stop, but I remember that after I made the adjustment, if I measured from ground to middle of my wheel well it was 37.5”. So tape on ground, right in middle of rear wheel to the bottom of the wheel well. 37.5”. I am bone stock.

There is pages of info here to do with your issue

I have the same issue with my 22 platinum avs. I just got my truck from 4wheel parts with the westscott avs 2/1 kit. My rear air bag setting is locked in the hi position and won’t go back lower. The bags wont drop or move at all. I got it to kinda level out but it got stuck again. I’m gonna call westscott and the shop again tomorrow with an update. I think it’s pointless to install this westscott kit and your rear bags don’t auto level or lower etc. I do a lot of towing
