I'm really crossing my fingers for a couple things that I don't think are too crazy.
    • No crazy huge grey chunks of plastic on the dash
    • A smooth functioning GPS/entertainment console
    • Factory Locker option (most other Toyota truck and suv models offer this)
    • Grab handle on Drivers side
    • Better road and bed lighting
I don't need better fuel economy or more horsepower. Just keep it reliable and fix on these things that I've seen bug the community for years.

The ram boxes don’t really kill bed space , I owned one, full sheet of plywood lays flat between the walls , I loved those things. I kinda miss having a truck with actual storage built in.

Wifey has a new RAV4 the dash and parts of the door panels are soft and not plastic like.. So I’m thinking the new Tundra should see something similar? Locker would be nice but doubtful? The iAWD on the Hybrid RAV4 is pretty impressive though..and its been put to the test this winter! There is no hope for Entune! Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto is the fix...

You know...... I never thought I would say this, but I agree with bed lighting. I have an Undercover Ultra Flex on the bed of my 2500 HD. It has LED lights in the bad and at night with the cover on, it lights up the bed like it is day time. It is surprisingly really handy. Combination of the lights and a 110v electrical outlet in the bed, I actually really use both of those features and would like to see those in the new Tundra.

I have drove the 2500 HD to Missouri and also Florida. The in laws have a dometic fridge we borrowed that I plug in to the outlet, fill with a few drinks and food, and it stays ice cold for the trip. Stop at a rest stop to stretch and grab a drink and some food. Really handy!!!

I added the Toyota Bed Lights to my Tundra, with a pop-n-lock bed locker. Both work great, and both should have been standard. Would also like to see an invertor with outlets built into the bed. Am considering adding an invertor under the rear seat and running several outlets in the truck.

It is handy. I also have 110v electrical outlets on the front dash and on the rear of the center console for rear passengers. The kids use those and are handy.

What's crazy is my son's 14 year old Sequoia has a 110v regular old household outlet in the rear.
I guess there's an inverter in there somewhere, there's a 110v button on the center console.
Silly that feature hasn't made it to a truck that lots of folks use for off-roading/camping/commercial use.

I thought it was a good looking truck, during the test drive it was great. After living with it for 9 months and the 5 recalls (only 3 of which the dealer could fix) and the cylinder deactivation everywhere I drove and the 8-speed trans' inability to choose and stay in any gear at anytime I was just fed up.

The tundra came with an inverter and an outlet in the rear of the center console back around 08-10. They removed that feature.

When I think about my 2020 and the way I use it, the only thing I'd really pay more for would be bigger tires that *weren't* load range E.

adding ~20lbs per corner kills fuel mileage and ride characteristics. I'd be thrilled with with a larger highway all-season tire that was under 50lbs per tire.

Yeah, those are hard to find. Nitto makes a 51-lb 295/70R18 Terra Grappler G2. That’s the biggest SL load I know of off the top of my head.

The main thing I didn’t like about the stock Michelins was how they threw rocks forward that would bounce up and hit the front of the truck or even the windshield at times. After watching stock Tundras perform really well in a variety of off road conditions, I don’t think the stock tires hamstring a good off-road driver in any way other than clearance.

I did put some heavy Duratracs on. Love ‘em, but I don’t expect Toyota will put anything like that on the next gen Tundra.

Agreed. I mean I get that many people don't like the stock tires, but I'm one of those few people who likely don't plan on installing a huge lift and big fat tires. Literally any and every other truck I've bought, regardless of trim level, had completely CRAP tires on them (either Continentals or Tiger Paws or something similar). The Tundra was/is the first truck I've bought with tires that on their own are actually fairly decent tires.

Depends on what you're doing with 'em, I suppose. For basic driving and some minor off-road stuff (and I do mean minor), they've been fine for me. I agree though that if it were anything more than that I'd be purchasing some different/new tires.

In my older F150, though, it did far worse, and it was a 4WD as well. Once I got Falken Wildpeaks, however, it did far better.

I never had the chance to run them in the winter, so I’ll have to trust you on that.

Also, your winter and mine are two entirely different things.

I just noticed you're in Canada. Yeah....if I lived in Canada, I'd say they suck too, given y'all (likely) have more snow than we do. (Well, usually, notwithstanding the last two weeks. LOL)

If I lived anywhere where we get more snow, yeah, I'd have different tires - OR I'd have two sets of tires (one for winter, one for the rest of the time).

I've been impressed by mine - for stock tires (~5k miles on them) - they handled extremely well in 12" of snow and a few days of ice down here.

Then again, I think tires have a sixth sense about them. When you're a sarcastic jerk, they tend to turn into ice skates until you learn your lesson.

Got rid of my passenger rated stock tires within 600 miles of owning the truck and put some proper truck tires on there. Load range E. Hated the stock tires.

While that would be nice, more likely will get in the $37-38k range tops private party (KBB private party in "very good" condition is $36k average). Still very good for an almost 5-yr old truck that probably bought for $47k. Then consider the tax benefit you get with trade-in depending on state ($3k or so range) and you probably come out ahead just trading it in with much less hassle.

Speaking of tires I’ve heard that in the 2022 Tundras Toyota is going to use a new technology they’ve developed with Goodyear called the MTPT ( multi tread pattern tire ) . Through various sensors and cameras the truck will determine what tires you need and reconfigure the tread pattern .
So if you’re on the highway in warmer weather the computer will configure the tread pattern to a Low rolling resistant radial .
Go off road and it will either configure A/T or M/T depending on conditions .
Winter weather .... you guessed it , it’ll configure the tires to winter tires . Quite ingenious really .

    A bunch
Alberta winter (Prairies really) is one of a kind. In Ontario I had no problems running all season tires year round, the Michelin's would be just fine there. But Alberta roads just get so cold and snow packed (lack of salt and all) that winter tires are highly recommended. And even they don't do crap on the ice roads (aka residential streets) around here. Studded tires would work there, but then be crap on the bare -40 roads - there's just not a good balanced tire for the roads here, have to compromise somewhere.
