That BS works on the kind of people who buy fords and dodges. Not so much the thinking man who buys a TOYOTA. Or so I tell myself.

Ok seems people are talking a lot about price, I don't know if this fits in but I will carry on. On the different trims

    Important:
Mechanical , I bought the TUNDRA because I thought it would never fail.
Looks, looks great definitely best looking in my mind say what you will
Lift: I bought the TRD OFF ROAD, still changed the suspension to ICON
People will buy the PRO and change it up their truck what ever they want
Interior: best interior in my mind SR5 or 1794. Either way seems like most would rather have bottom range for the black or the highest to get rid of most of the chrome.
Best bet in my mind would be get it in 4X4 and make it your own, I paid 36,000 for SR5 TRD OFF ROAD MICA BRONZE 2017 new. Could have went with a SR5 but I think the color options would have been more basic, white or black kind of options.
Mods, new lift, rims, tires grill plus accessories.
Still to do, bumpers and interior to rid of chrome.
Would like a new HD unit with real nav.
Anyway looking back could have saved money going cheaper on the truck and just bought after market upgrades. 2 things I would think you would want factory would be moon roof and roll down back window.
    Suspicious of mass production:
Changed my side mirriors to tow mirrors pre wired for side maker lights score, I think this would be for puddle lights in an upgraded trim.
Has me thinking is the truck pre wired for heated seats,if i got some used seats with the heater in it ,how about nav also just look at the ingintion key light upgrade. What else.

Only thing I would make sure of is the roll down back window on the next truck.

So , I purchased a 2021 Venza last week for the wife, I figured I would email the salesman yesterday evening and see if he heard anything. So far they have not heard anything on the details of the 2022 as of the reply at 8PM last night.

The 2022 Toyota Tundra will build upon the success of the 2021 Tundra with a new color palette and available wireless Apple CarPlay. Trim levels and pricing are expected to be on par with the 2021 model year.

I was at the dealer last night to pick up our 2021 Sienna and asked the folks there if they had any new news on the 2022 Tundra and they said no. That was around 8pm last night.:annoyed:

I would love some wireless carplay in my 2020 and then just have the wireless charging tray in console. NO WIRES!

I agree! Though Apple will surely come out with a wireless CarPlay dongle before going portless on the iPhone 13. Also, I think most people were hoping for more changes to the 2022 Tundra!

Just seems so odd, with the test mule being spotted as far back as 2019 and also the spy shots of the video and front end, just seems we should be seeing more info. One thing I have noticed though is Toyota has no real info yet on any 2022 model

I'd be fine with that if apple would actually make an OEM wireless adapter because I haven't heard great things about these ones you can buy on Amazon and the likes. Knowing apple though, it would surely cost at least $100, but you know it's gonna work everytime.

Maybe they'll exit the truck market completely. "The Big3 were too much to take on. Even our TRD Pro never stood a chance against Raptor. Although our profit margin on the Pro was very good due to the only real feature being the bed stamp, we never sold very many. In the USA we're going to focus on our core strength, the Corolla and Camry. The Land Cruiser will be developed since it has a strong following in 3rd world countries."

I'd reckon some guys on here are probably right, and the chip shortage has made it impossible to produce a new Tundra for the 2022 MY. Maybe next superbowl you guys get the good news that you can upgrade.

Delaying a new Tundra by a year would fit in nicely with my plans. When I bought my current truck, '06 Ram Cummins, I waited until the new Tundra came out to see if it would suit my needs. As my intention was to travel with a fifth wheel the then new Tundra turned out to be a non-starter. I've gotten 220K trouble free miles out of my Ram and I've maintained it with the intention of getting another 200K out of it. But I'm sorely tempted to get an old school Tundra while I still can. My towing style has changed so I can just make a Tundra work. I bought the Ram because I didn't want to deal with the new diesel technology and preferred a well proven platform. Same with the Tundra, I like the old technology and want to get it before it's gone. If I can make another truck last 15 years it'll just about put me in my grave. Another year to make the transition would be just fine.

Ford cut a shift from KC and a couple shifts from Detroit for a week. They should be back up to speed in the next few days if reports are correct.

I mean this respectfully to Ford, but out of all the domestics, Nissan, and Toyota, their lots are packed full of F-150's. Just by looking on lots, they seem to be as full as ever. Not sure cutting production and having a self-correction of all the trucks in inventory is not a good thing.

Anyone look at the financials of Ford lately? They better due something or else they might not be around in several years if they continue on the path that they are on with warranty claims and decreased sales due to them cutting vehicle lines.

Being old school the V8 should be retained as an option. This fordesque eco boost may not work so well. These are large, heavy trucks. Just my .$02

There was a thread on this a while back. If I understood correctly, Ford is going to start blaming their vendors for failures and trying to push the warranty repair costs onto them rather than taking ownership for their own low quality.
