My dad retired from Honda of Marysville where they build Accords. Brother in law works at the engine plant in Anna.

I spent 2 summers during college working at the Marysville, OH plant. Would blow your mind the efficiency and quality compared to the domestics at the time.

One of the coolest things I have been in and this was 15 years ago. They ran 2 lines per shift. Each line did 360 Accords, so a total of 720 per shift. They ran 2 shifts so overage that would get them up to their goal of 1,440 per day. That would put them at 300,000 plus per year at the time.

The underground tunnel system in that plant was awesome.

Before all the phones and social media, if you worked 3rd shift in the plastics department in the back of the building, you could see parts of the Honda test track at the back of the employee parking lot. You could see a little bit of it where they would be absolutely torturing the cars and some of the motorcycles back there.

Hands down one of the coolest and best jobs I had......

I heard it on a forum so it must be true. Go over to Tacoma world and check the door sill paint and rust issues. You can find all sorts of paint related issue on forums from every manufacture. It does mean that it’s a huge problem.
From a personal prospective I bought a 2013 Frontier while I wait for the new Tundra and paint is perfectly fine.

TUNDRA hands down (for assumed quality) I agree the comp has nicer interior/maybe exterior. Hope GM steps up their quality

Every GM I ever rode in seemed like a rattle trap. And squeaks everywhere

it looks like Ike the same interior components as the new yukon and Tahoe and they are definitely a step up in quality of material and craftsmanship.

My rattles were never interior quality. Traverse I had rattling doors and the large suv was the well known buffering which were a combo.

I even had the motorized center screen that I though for sure would be a gimmicky issue but turned out to be okay.

They did the same thing with the Highlander hybrid. It was released 6 months after the gasser.

I don’t know, I question Honda’s quality now. My sister-in-law has a ‘21 CRV and most of the exterior plastic trim is literally melting. The trim between the door windows, around the mirror, bumper trim, etc. not an isolated case either . Warranty is taking care of it but I’m sure it will keep repeating on past warranty. The CRV is normally a good car and my wife used to drive one with no issues, but they obviously cut corners on the newer models. BTW, my sister in law lives in the mid Atlantic and which is not excessively hot.

I've always had really good luck with Honda products. I bought an RDX based on this. I was looking at Consumer Reports and noticed the RDX wasn't one of their recommended products, but figured it was a Honda product, and had the powertrain from the Accord. How bad could it really be?

I was shocked when I started finding puddles of water in the rear plastic storage bins after about a year. At first, I thought maybe it was raining when I was unloading the car and blew in. But after a couple of nights of coming out to the car and finding water in the back, I decided to take it to the dealer. The dealer immediately blamed me. I wish I could have seen his face when he told me it was probably because I park under trees. Ultimately, they realized all the weather stripping around the sunroof was bad. That and the headliner had to go.

It's been an OK car. I'm not in love with it, but it's served it's purpose well, and been relatively problem free.

hopefully this updated trims and color thing has errors

according to this the platinum hardly has any colors and doesn't have the blueprint which is the very color they showed off for this trim.

I agree. My dad worked there from 1994 to 2008. During the best time and best vehicle time frame.

I would also agree that they are not quite once they once we're.

Ack! exactly... hmmm, wondering if I get the limited, with trd offroad, and swap in the platinum grill. Really like that grill, for some reason. I know people don't like all the silver, but, I think it looks classy on that model, and better than the limited's grill, for sure. Wonder how much they are?

You would be swapping the off road grill, not the limited grill.

Looking at the color configurator, if I were getting on purely on looks
I think the TRD PRO in Black takes the win...

Per their YouTube marketing response team on one of their latest videos in case anyone was curious when they would release numbers. Still nothing definitive but gives at least a semi-official response:

That's what I thought too. Then I watched this:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O39PW4n4nZQ

Go to the 3:10 mark for his take on the TRD Pro. Don't know if he's right; don't know where he got his information from. Don't know if he misspoke.

He probably misspoke. This is the same "engineer" that reported the TRD Pro exclusive color would be brown/gold, among other things he's gotten wrong.

At this point, its just making fun of Toyota's marketing and ad department, the truck could be the greatest thing ever, but the tone deaf marketing department is still fun to see what kinda of head scratcher they can come up with next...lol
