I generally like the looks of this truck but that trd pro rear end is the worst one yet.

I ordered a Sport in black so I am sure they can order by trim and color.

The pro and the base model sr are the only ones with that black on the top of the tailgate. Also the pro and the base sr work truck are the only two with black handles and mirrors. I don’t know why they take one of their most expensive trims and go out of their way to make it look like their cheapest one. The average person seeing it will thing you bought a base model and threw on some aftermarket wheels. The big black plastic cheap looking grill doesn’t help either. I plan on getting the pro, so I’ll probably end up at least wrapping the mirrors to match the paint and may even wrap the bottom bumper on the grill.

The "black" on the tailgate of the pro is that new camo stuff that is exclusively on the pro. They were trying to make it more distinctive. Good call, bad call, all up to the individual, but it's not the same stuff that's on the SR.

I agree, but you have to be basically standing right next to it to notice the camo, I’m guessing once you get 15’ away it just looks like black sr model plastic going down the road.

You’ll never load 56 bags/a pallet of cement in any half tonne. 30/35 scant bags maybe. Don’t ask me how I know. Who’s kidding who?

And to be honest I don’t mind the black tailgate look, it’s kind of growing on me. It just bugs me that they also made the plain Jane fleet model to look just like it. Lol

The TRD Pro is a nice looking poser of an off road truck if it doesn’t have substantial if any front tow hooks.
No truck should have an aerofoil if it’s not on a race track. Silliness all.
I’m going to take a Platinum but only because the preferred TRD Pro is just not real so might as well go for more luxury. Planning to do a little of everything with truck, which real trucks are designed to handle and have it for a reliable long time. I am disappointed that since ‘07 this what they’ve developed for launch, very underwhelming. Sad.

Tow hooks come in handy when you get stuck fishing or at the hunting club from time to time. When my buddy comes to pull me out, he’ll say where are the tow hooks, and I’ll say don’t have any, just help me dig through the mud so I can squeeze and lay under the truck in the slop, to try and find a place to hook to.

usually toyota will not let you specify your initial allocation of new vehicles on a new gen. after you get your initial allocation, then they will open up dealer specific allocation requests, if i remember correctly.

I'm going to stick with ole reliable "Walmart's super tech". Been using the 5w-30 in my 4.0 tacoma for years now and from what research ive done, its a really good synthetic oil.

There are plenty of Toyota dealerships that aren't doing ADM right now, just have to search for them. The 22 Pro still won't be anywhere close to the top trims of the big 3. The new Denali Ultimate being $81k is absurd.

My uncle works for Toyota corporate (although he admits he has absolutely no pull when it come to Tundra) and he said from what he has heard he expects the same. $3-7k increase across all trims, but no more than that.

The Pro doesn't have active aero. Also if tow hooks are that big of a deal to you they are still available.
