Just the V8 roar is enough to scare pedestrian walking in front of my truck…I don’t need the exhaust to wake my neighbor up in da morning…

I would base that on Govt regulations and the classes of vehicle ratings....an example is the Jeep Gladiator, the same model in Australia has a higher payload rating than in the US....the only difference between the 2....The way the Govt figures the ratings..based on class of vehicle and axle ratings etc.

Yes. Many V8 Raptor owners decided to keep theirs instead of getting the newer V6. The residual value on those V8’s are strong. The V8 tundras will be the same.

I looked this up, and all I can find is that the Aussie Gladiator recently got a modest payload upgrade so that it now fits in the “light goods carrying vehicle” class like its competitors instead of the “off roading passenger vehicle” class. They don’t mention what they did to warrant the extra capacity though.

Right, so entirely made up to fit into a registration class of vehicle to meet what ever govt standard or class they need it to be in..... So in the end no one really knows the capability of the vehicle, you can get manufacturer specs on the axles for some vehicles that will help to determine how far you could push it if needed.

I'm not saying there is not a limit, I'm saying no one other than the manufacturer really knows what the limit is...and they are not going to tell you that...

If it’s anything like the TRX and Shelby Raptor it will be a 90-120K truck. Different market segment that’s for sure.

Anyone here from Canada been told colors and trims? I was told that army green isn’t a color available on the 22 even though I’ve seen reviews with army. I was also told the bigger screen option isn’t available on the Sport - but again, I’ve seen a you tube test drive review with a sport and the large screen. Not sure if we are being short changed on options here in Canada or what?

Did you know that the Gladiators in Australia have smaller fenders and flares? They don’t allow massive off-roading tires like we do in the US. Did you know the Rubis there come with 255/75s? I’m sure there are other differences; those were just two that I found after a quick search. The Aussie and US Gladiators are not identical from the factory.

Payload is based not only on components, but also how the vehicle performs in a variety of tests. Maybe the upgrade came from firmer handling by switching spring rates. Maybe they went to different tires, and its braking distance was shortened enough that they were able to get it rated for the same payload as the base model. That’s really what happened here—the Aussie Galdiator Rubis are rated for 1557 lbs or something like that; same as the base Gladiators in the US. That’s still low for Australian Ute standards.

My point is—I highly doubt that they just fudged the numbers without actually upgrading something on the vehicle that allowed it to be rated for the same “light goods carrying vehicle” class as its Aussie competitors. In Australia, Jeep competes with badass Land Cruisers, Hiluxes, Nissan Patrols, Isuzus—all these Utes are far more capable than what Jeep competes against in the US. So, Jeep upped their game to compete because no one outside of the cities in Australia buys a Jeep. I didn’t find exactly what they did to earn the higher rating, but you’ve given me no reason to believe they just made it up.

Almost guarantee you things will be different up here. Some good, some bad. Take 2.5 gen for example - we got heated seats on a lower trim level than the states (forget if it was SR5 upgrade or TRD OR where we got it and US didn't); but we also couldn't put TRD OR package onto Limited pickups (or 1794 if that was possible in the states)

I have the same sentiment but 1. Since I would only want a Pro the hybrid needs to be proven to me first and 2. I’m not playing this MSRP shit anymore.

“Only a man can understand vehicles” you are one high class individual. Listen, next time you have the urge to spew some more intolerant, chauvinistic nonsense why don’t you do it in your special little dark corner of Reddit instead.

And for the record, that’s not cancel culture. That’s called consequences of your own actions.

A quick lesson in free speech.

Free speech doesn’t mean “free of consequences”. it also doesn’t mean that private platforms can’t censor you. It means that the government can’t persecute you for what you say.

I have the Canadian dealer specification guide. Green is available, but only on SR5 w/ TRD OR and Limited w/ TRD OR. I did not see a TRD OR package for the 1794 edition like in the US launch videos. Take this with a grain of salt because the paperwork is a bit preliminary and confusing as we have seen. I would also expect Canada to get less one-off options and focus more on a few popular packages.

Or maybe they just didn't want to buy a new truck, not to mention the price went up.

The order fulfillment process with Ford is picking up - usually 2 months from order to delivery if you pick a good and transparent dealership. It's still very possible to get X-Plan or just great dealer pricing if you are willing to research multiple dealers and play them against one another.

I have read stories of people verbally agreeing on a price and then the dealer trying to tack on a "market adjustment" after the fact. If you go this route be sure to get your agreed-upon price in writing.

I love this Ford F350 by the way.. So far it's an upgrade from the Tundra in every conceivable way. I still love the Tundra but it's just not a comparison to a HD truck.

There's really nothing you can sign about price that's binding on an order. Back in the beginning of 2021 dealers were using customer orders for inventory since that's all Ford would produce. So customers would order, dealer would receive it and jack the price and sell to the highest bidder.

I ordered mine in May, still hasn't been scheduled. KC plant was shutdown for almost a month in Sept. Dearborn ran on reduced schedules. At the time I ordered mine it was $7k dealer discount + $1k order rebate and my dealer told me they are waiting on confirmation but my order will prob convert to a 22 and if that happens I get an extra Ford $3500 rebate as a loyalty apology.

It may not hold up in court - but it sure does go a loooong way to have some signed paperwork to show your dealer the price they agreed to. Further, if you place a deposit (I didn't), and have a sales contract from the dealer, I don't see how it wouldn't hold up in court. I'm 100% confident that it would, to be honest.

KC plant only produces F150. Did you order a 1/2 ton truck? Personally I wouldn't have traded my Tundra for an F150 - but I can see why some would.

What is the priority level your dealer assigned to your order? What level of allocation do they have? I had a choice between a dealer in the city with lots of allocation and about 13 orders head of me, or one in my small town with less allocation but only 2 orders ahead of me. I chose the small dealer and was scheduled and built rapidly with a priority 10 order. I would recommend learning about how orders are sent to production and understanding that process - you might be waiting several months and it's going to have more to do with your dealer than Ford production capabilities. Good luck.

All the video reviews have been saying there is pumped in exhaust with the JBL system. Non JBL does not have it. All the reviews I have seen on it say it is a very nice pumped in exhaust note. I would like to know if you can turn it off though.

So there'll be a menu item for the exhaust note on and off? Maybe they can add a dash auxiliary switch. It's like "Muzak" for your truck's exhaust ... they can call it "Spewzak."

Oh I am sure its not exactly made up, but you kind of proved my point...the Gladiator payload rating there for a loaded vehicle is the same as a base vehicle here (basically factory max payload)....So they did take the axle ratings and other info, but their govt rating system is different from ours so they were able to rate it as max payload for the loaded truck....which is the max payload that the factory that built is says it can carry.

You do know that different govt's rate vehicles differently correct.

I would bet that if the tundra were rated in other countries, you would probably see the max payload of 1950 lbs not matter trim. The Hilux is that way in a lot of countries, but if you brought the Hilux here you would see a bunch of different stickers.
