I am not arguing your point. I believe everything you said is spot on. There is nothing offered that will make me get into a new Tundra.

But when it’s time to purchase a new Tundra I would appreciate the gains…

Since HP=Torque*RPM/5252 they absolutely are. If diesel's could rev higher they would have massive HP numbers. Torque indicates how you off the line until the engine gets revved up, essentially in the 2-3k range, then it's HP that will be the better indicator.

Looking at those 0-60 numbers it's clear the hybrid unit is clearly just a supplement to the gas engine and does not produce much drive. IMO this works much better for real life situations - how much does it matter how you get off the line? What matters much more is how it picks up when you're already at speed - whether it's to pass someone or to keep momentum going up a hill. The Toyota hybrid is all about function over style

After looking at the spec sheet and standard features and options packages doesn't look like I will going with the Pro anymore.

I didn’t read that whole article, but as a counter argument, here is a video I didn’t watch completely either. Around the 4 minute mark I heard words that sounded like I was right.

I’m pretty sure this is how internet disagreements are settled…

I feel like I'm at the paralysis of the analysis stage. Every couple weeks I feel like I'm trying to read the tea leaves when these videos come out. I think I'm ready to just go drive the damn thing, see it in person, and stop comparing it to the F150.

Another argument here is which fuel is required. From the Specs PDF

    Recommended Fuel 87-octane or higher

No one buying the new model is doing it for gas savings alone. There are a lot of factors. Plus, this is the non-hybrid, so if gas savings is a big deal to you just go for the hybrid which will have even better numbers.

No argument. 87 is fine. If you really care about HP and Torque you could probably squeeze a few extra out with buying premium, but it's not needed. Same as every other vehicle really.

No one who thinks beyond the end of their nose is buying just for gas savings, but I promise you, there are plenty of idiots that do this. As far as the hybrid, current speculation is that it is geared more toward adding grunt than efficiency, so until it's mileage is known it is all speculation.

You lose an inch and half of headroom with the pano moonroof.

All sun/moon/pano roofs cost headspace. They have to put the mechanicals for sliding and storage somewhere, and they aren't going to put a tumor on the outside of the roof for it.

I'm aware of the reasoning. Just pointing out things I'm noticing from the spec sheet.

Didn't they say the back seat was a bit higher with the hybrid too? I think I remember them saying that but I didn't see it on the specs sheet. If it is true that will make the headroom even worse in the hybrid. (I know we have seen it in videos before but no actual measurement)

I thought that too but there's not a difference on the spec sheet for hybrid vs. non hybrid, only crew max vs. double cab.

I'm also surprised that the HUD is not available on the Pro.

Be careful with those power delpoyed running boards on the Platinum and 1794. Coming from a current F150 owner here. They look to be the same running board manufacturer and are very prone to seizing up. I soak mine in penetrating oil every few months.

I noticed that none of the testers thus far have had it. No one has really even mentioned it which is surprising because I really like HUDs a lot. What's crazy is it's not standard on any of the trims.

Looks like they're offering TWO sizes of sunroof but if I'm reading it right the normal, non-pano roof is limited to the Limited. I was thinking 1794 but now maybe a loaded up Limited. I do trust Toyota's engineering of the pano more than the big 3 but I'd still prefer a single pane roof with a manual sunshade.

So now we wait (and throw out incredible, endless guesses) for the MPG numbers on the hybrid. That is a nice increase for the standard though, I hope there are no real gotchas but only time will tell.

Very sorry to see no blue offerings. Dark blue is too close to black for me so pass on that. Why do car makers hate lighter blues (don't answer, I'm just lamenting).

Interesting that the SR gets a de-tuned engine. Guess for fleet vehicles?

I might be alone in this sentiment, but I feel like good electric trucks with 500 miles of range can't come soon enough. We're maybe gaining 5 mpg from the hybrid?

Notable that memory seats isn't available on Limited since pre-production Limiteds had memory seats.
Also, I don't see anything about memory side mirrors.
