lol $249 for air. you do realize regular air has 78% nitrogen content already that you can get from a regular air compressor/gas station air hose. all they are doing it charging you for a text line and just pump regular air into your tire for that cost probably.

They said it's rated to tow a little less. That's always the case the max tow is the lower optioned trucks. The hybrid adds weight along with the other features of the higher end models hence the lower tow rating.

It's funny how many people keep telling me this as if I didn't already know.
For the last time... It was an informational post so that people could see what a dealer is planning to charge for extras when ordering a 2022.
I never said I was going to pay that

But wouldn't you think that the added torque of the hybrid motor could overcome the weight of its batteries and it should at least be equal to the non-hybrid towing capacity?

If you like low-end torque, the ttv6 and hybrids blow the v8 out of the water. Its not even close. V8 growl is a different story, but the 5.7 makes its power over 4000 rpms, the ttv6 is at 2400.

not at that price. my tint person has a machine that auto cuts the sheet out to the exact dimension of the window. he charged me $250 for 4 side windows and rear. most of the cost was for labor. no one with a grain of salt manually cuts tint anymore unless you have those rare low production vehicles.

The engine isn't the issue. You could take the engine and put it in an f250 and rate it to tow 16,000 lbs. It's the suspension, axles, frame, and brakes that would be the limiting factor.

On the intro videos when it was first released, when they were showing the orange color TRD sport, they said it came lowered. Makes sense, its a street oriented truck for street performance. Shocks (suspension) are tuned different as well.

I think when we finally get ground clearance numbers you will see a few heights

    Sport. (lowest)
    Normal height
    TRD OR (slightly higher)
    PRO (Highest)

And by the looks of all the pics, none of them over 10 inches...lol

as small as the tire is, its a mute point. the only benefit a tire has that needs nitrogen is aircraft tires during landings.

I heard on one of the Youtube videos the hybrid motor will be active in all circumstances. Sweers mentioned they have an 'advanced hybrid control ECU' that will keep the hybrid battery charged for towing assist.[/QUOTE]

OK, it could have been conjecture on a video or post. It's good to see evidence to the contrary and not confirmation. If by chance you find the video you're referencing I'd like to see it. I'm becoming more interested in that hybrid option... I can't believe I'm actually saying that outload.

It's going to be a huge PIA to insure you have good coverage without a borescope.

No. Towing capacity = GCWR - curb weight

There are a bunch of factors that go into GCWR, not just how much low end torque you have. I'd bet that every 2022 has the same GCWR so the ones that weigh more (i.e. the top trims with 300 lbs of batteries under the back seat) will have lower towing capacities.

That's correct. In this video he explains it very well. The more weight you add, the less you can take off that Max towing number.

The TRD Sport I was admiring was the one at the reveal, it was a 4x4.

Does Toyota lower their 4x4 Sports usually?

Just curious, wouldn't bother me, that big ol' plastic nose wouldn't be good for off-roading anyways

5.7 and 4.7 peak torque is about 3600rpm and a good torque curve from idle to 3600rpm. TTV6 will do better lowend, yes. I really do love the V8 growl though.

It would be a new thing for 2022. You know, to compete with the popular lowered trucks of the early 2000s.

Thanks! Finally get to see the rear space of the DC.

BTW, that guy really butchered the specs, torque was wrong, kept calling it a crew cab, said the epb was "hydraulic" but happy to see the back seat.

    BTW what color is that?
