Chevy hasn’t officially said what the 2022 ZR2 will cost. But car and driver is projecting around 55k.

    https://www.caranddriver.com/chevrolet/silverado-1500-zr2

There’s a lot to be said for Toyota’s reliability. But if they try to launch the TRD pro at 70k while the Chevy ZR2 is out there at 55k (again, not confirmed, just C&D projection).

    Not a good look, Toyota!

So who knows, I’m staying optimistic (perhaps naive) that Toyota will put the 2022 around 3-4k above last years msrp. Maybe the “world beater” status will become evident in the value for dollar dept? It hasn’t really shown up in any other areas.

*yea, I know it wasn’t Toyota who said world beater. It was a dealer rep. Just using it to emphasize the point.

I think it would look a lot better if the door handles and mirrors were color matched. The black makes them
Look cheap like plain Jane fleet trucks to me. The white pro in one of the videos had color matched trim, so maybe it will be an option.

If color match handles, fenders and mirrors are options it will make this truck look even better....time will tell what options they give us

Just go to Fords website and price out an F150 tremor. Loaded out with leather and all the bells and whistles you’ll be 68K-70K.

The new Raptor will be easily touching 80K now.

My bet is the TRD PRO is at least 65K with the hybrid.

More pics of the Tundra at the State Fair. Solar octane looks great in person but it really reminds me of an orange safety cone.54790690-BE58-4A2D-9531-4545692F2708.jpg 2E9CB166-D7E6-42E3-8803-548AB7BA14C5.jpg CBA66792-F300-472A-BD93-7F4C6DDC26C2.jpg ACAA0BFD-D290-4DE3-AFE6-52A579ED5CEA.jpg

One of the reveal videos the Toyota rep mentioned that a factory 3” lift will be offered as an option. Looks like the Tundra in the above video may have that option.

Edit- someone beat me to the possible 3" lift option. Has a light bar too.

I kind of like the black mirrors and am I alone by saying that the mirrors aren't just the cheap black plastic but painted black?

I touched on this earlier but the Tremor is an outlier in my opinion as I priced them out a number of times. I think that model is not going to sell nor age well due to the radically inflated price point for a minimal package (that's already shown for Ranger Tremor sales too). You can price out a pretty well loaded Raptor with almost all options minus 37" tires for about $73k, trust me I've had that screen open more times than I can count lately. Similarly, go to the Ford forums and read how much hate they are getting for pricing a massively less optioned and capable truck so close to a Raptor. Seriously, similarly equipped the Tremor is within about $2k of a Raptor, WTF is going on there Ford?

Either way, I could be shocked if Toyota follows suit but crazier things have happened.

Anyone know what trim level this is?
Looks like it has the grill, light bar, hood badges from a TRD pro, but doesn’t appear to have the pro tailgate or wheels.

Yes I think they are painted black, but you really can’t tell till you get close, from a distance they look just like the black plastic on the base trims, To me anyway. Same thing with gm , the trail boss Tahoe and Yukon at4 have color handles and mirrors, but the truck versions have black. The white pro pic that Toyota put out leading up to the reveal has color trim and to me looked so much better. Also if I was to get the pro, I would probably take the bottom portion of the grill/bumper and have it painted to break it up some.

That could just be a pre production TRD pro thus why it's missing a few things. It has that trd pro tailgate cap just not the stamping it looks.

you do realize the pricing for the those trims are lower than what toyota is using on its website fore 2021 pricing. right now a base 2021 platinum 4x4 is 53k

I agree. If they keep the price within reason I'm sure they'll sell a lot of them. Holding out myself for one

My '16 is currently having a couple of tweaks in the bed sides pulled out to get it all primed and ready for sale or to keep a bit longer and just not have the dents there. :) I believe it's from hopping up into the bed using the rear wheels. My brother's '18 did the same thing. Thin metal up there.

Going back and forth on pricing is pretty pointless until Toyota officially announces it. The best source we have so far is the NASCAR giveaway, and if that trend holds up the top trims shouldn't come close to the $70k mark.

It looks great on the road. This seems to be some weird cross between a Limited and a Pro, so I doubt we ever see this exact configuration on sale. It has the Pro grill, hood "vents", fender flares, and tailgate, but Limited wheels and no tailgate badging. Pre-production model for sure. That Lunar Rock is sexy though and making me reconsider my current choice of white.
