Can someone that is complaining about the twin turbo v6 explain why turbo longevity is rarely if ever brought up when we are talking about diesels? Or we will sit here and complain about the complexity of this new engine, but then wish for a diesel which has become just as complex are now full of issues due to exhaust systems?
I'm really curious if any of you that are complaining about the ttv6 have actually driven a new turbo engine. In my experience, most people that don't want anything to do with a tt quickly change their mind the first time they drive one. I've driven an ecoboost and I will say, it is impressive, it was a test drive so I didn't get to pull with it, but everyone that does pull with one say they pull so much better than a v8 due to the torque being so low. My long term experience with a turbo is in my wife's lexus Nx. It has a 2.0L turbo in it. It only has about 90,000 miles on it, but so far it has not been in the shop at all. There's no turbo lag to it, if you didn't know any better, you would just think it has a v6 in it. You cannot tell one bit that it has a turbo, except her's does use premium fuel.
Just saying, give the ttv6 a test drive before you discount it, I won't be buying one for a couple of years anyway simply because I keep my trucks for 10 years or so, but by then, we should have some idea on the reliability of the new drivetrain as well, but I won't be discounting it simply because it is new technology and doesn't make the cool vroom vroom sound.

I started watching that video and didn't make it very far. The first couple minutes were just skipping around and it seemed like he was so unprepared for the video, he didn't have a clue what he was talking about half of the time. I may give it another shot later on.

Yeah, but go to timestamp 28:40 to see how Toyota recommends fitting a Nalgenes in the interior.

Chuck box is available on the Daniel Boone edition.

Canvas cover is an aftermarket accessory. See your local hardware store for details.

It can hold 20 rectangular 100lb bales. The wood spokes on the wheels have been upgraded from the Oregon Trail edition to provide increased payload.

If it can't, then it may as well be a Ford. My 1st Gen Tundra can fit a Nalgene in every cup holder. The 2021 F150 i drive at work can't. Fail.

I spent my first 15 years of driving without electronic aids. Never had an issue or memorable moment.

Since using smartphone navigation, we've had a few memorable (in a bad way) moments.
I've been directed that someone's driveway was the amusement park, that the best route from Seattle to Mesa, AZ was to drive in circles in a trailer park in Oregon, just a few of many routing errors.

Google Maps had us driving through a *quarry* to get to the Tampa airport. LOL (No, I didn't go through it, though I wanted to...)

My wife's X3 fits Nalgene's in the door pockets... but my Tundra, not a single place in the cab for a large water bottle. You would think a larger vehicle marketed work and outdoor recreation would...

My gps tried to get me to turn onto a 2 track over grown trail that went up into the woods one time. I would've done it, but my wife heard banjo music and told me not to.

We use these in our Tacoma and Suburban cup holders. Fits the Yeti canteens and the Nalgene bottles. It's cheaper than buying a new truck.

Back in '06, during the early days of GPS, they were doing some work on the bridge from Tampa to Clearwater... Took me in circles into the nearby neighborhoods before I got the proper lane to get onto the Bridge.... Then, halfway across, at a very high elevation, it told me to turn left.... ummm, no... LOL.

Even today, in Vermont, Tractor Trailers and tourist buses are regularly stuck - literally, between boulders when they get routed to/from Stowe VT, from north/south thru Smuggler's Notch, which at points is a single lane hairpin turn around the boulders. Locals regularly have bets as to when the first will get stuck after they open it up each year (it's closed for winter as it's not conducive for any traffic once the snow comes).

Looks like Toyota is trying to sneakily gouge those folks that want to snatch up one of the 5.7s before the stock is gone. Great interest rate, although the term could be better.

Not all GPS navigation is the same. Toyota’s Nav is terrible, however I find Apple’s nav which i believe is powered by Tom Tom and Waze to be quite accurate. They may not be perfect but can’t tell you how many time they’ve saved me time by rerouting me around a traffic jam or notifying me of a speed trap.

Offroad package will get the Michelin tire as before. Falken will only go on the following packages: TRD PRO in 18" w/ BBS wheel and TRD Sport in 20" w/ cast alloy TRD wheel (non-BBS).

One of the things I used to hate the most was what I'll call those 'non-symmetrical' stoplights - where there'll be like 5 turns. (Left, right, straight, behind you...and then a weird one off to your left like at 75 degrees or something.)

Anyways, Apple Maps used to say "Turn left onto...." and I'm thinking WTH - I have two lefts!

NOW, at least, it'll either say "turn left" or "turn a SLIGHT left" or such. Thank God for that.

Google does the opposite. "Slight left to stay on the freeway." "You mean don't take that exit on the right?"

I hate that so much! Then sometimes when you need to be in a certain lane (on the other side of the interstate) it won't say anything.

Great catch! Estimated max $6,000 increase across all trims is reasonable for the upgrades they've made. This means I'm expecting the TRD PRO to come in around the low 60's mark.

Me too. My 2018 screen is fine. I use no features on the menu and none of the TSS stuff intentionally. Installed a front camera, although the back up is really all I need. Spotify and bluetooth calls I can't hear that well because I don't have the resonator on my DD exhaust. I only use navigation when I'm driving in the mountains and would never buy a truck with a sunroof unless I had to.

    Old people talk.

True, Apple nav has also recently added the “go through the next light and then turn left”. I like that they added traffic signal identification.
