So Automotive Press just release another video... and guess what, his list of "Complaints" about the new Tundra seems to be a summary of the complaints listed on this forum... who would have thought. :monocle:

Dunno how that makes it better? To me the worst part about how they do flares is that they don't run the whole wheel well, they start and stop just above the areas that need the most protection. Second would be that some are just raw plastic black and well Toyota hasn't figured out how to keep that from fading in two years time so they will look like crap. The color matched are the way to go with this new model.

I did exactly the same thing after a unsolvable mechanical issue with my 2020. Sold it for 2k more than what I paid but I had 30k for mileage. Driving a 2013 Frontier until the 22 Tundra prices stabilize.

I'm just saying it's part of their new design language so expecting them to go away is about as unrealistic as expecting a different grille shape to be rolled out in a few years.

I liked the fender flares on my 2012 Taco. Stopped the rock chips on the fender lip facing the tires. I don’t see the issue?

Gotcha, I agree with that pretty standard across the board for them like you said.

I'm curious what the mpg will be, I did some reading on the engine in the Lexus car and "As for fuel economy — the rear-wheel drive LS will get City 19 mpg/ Highway 29 mpg/ Combined 23 mpg, while the all-wheel drive model will rate at City 18 mpg/ Highway 27 mpg/ Combined 21 mpg." That's a car not a truck so we could possibly see less.

Has the info been released regarding which trims are getting the active aero? Just the hybrids?

Agree with you on that one but those flares run the whole wheel well, the way they do them on the 22' tundra and the newest Tacoma's they do not. Your high impact areas are left uncovered by the flare.

Would mud flaps cover those areas?

No doubt. The 15-20 f150 exterior is miles better than the 21. Ford went way conservative on this gen. It’s a 3rd down punt.

I sure it's been asked, but, will the 2022 have a transmission cooler?

No one knows for sure if it's a stand alone or integrated into the radiator cooler.

Is the 10spd trans a sealed unit like the current one? Curious if fluid changes will be any easier.

I looked back thru some pics and it looks like mud flaps that cover the bottom wheel well are only shown on the Pro and OR. Didnt see on the on the TRD Sport. Maybe another add on??

I don't have the link, but a video by one of the engineers on the 2022 Tundra team said it does have an oil cooler. Will try to find the video.

In Canada every model of Toyota truck received mud flaps unlike the US market. I can’t see that changing but flaps can easily be bought from your friendly parts department.

The hate the 22 tundra is getting is nothing compared to that new gen. At least the flares go all the way down.

They lowered it a little bit when they put it on the land cruiser suv frame. I think some of the trims are the same height though.

That's pretty bad, it doesn't even look like a WRX anymore. Not sure what happened, but I love my 04 and wish they would have stayed with the bug-eye styling, but that's just me. :)

They are saying that the front auto deploying air dam has breakaway clutch like when you hit something with the side mirror.
