I am glad you realized the BS that was being said to you.
I am an a-hole. I would have laughed at him and gone down the road of pissing him off. I mean, if the guy thinks you are that stupid, then he is moreso than you thought. I would have said all kinds of crap at him, like you are going to charge them to sell you the vehicle. You have to charge for your time and effort to get to the dealership, put up with their BS and then double it for having to actually talk to them.
    Just wanna see their reaction.

they just don't give a shit right now, you leave there at 10 people in line behind you, so you can say and act like anything you want. you'll go to the next dealer and get the same thing.

I will say, Toyota does offer the plastic exterior paint protector. My 2019 has it on there. I didn't want it so I told the dealer I wasn't interested in that truck because I wasn't going to pay for that crap even though it was on the manufacturer window sticker. They ate the price of it and sold me the truck.

Perhaps that may have been what the guy was talking about? I don't know about the interior, but I suppose it is possible...

So for the 2022 Tundra with the 3 inch lift option will the 32.5 tires have to be replaced as well to like 35’s?

Around here, the Tacos cost pretty much what the Tundras do and even the front seat of the Taco is too small for me (and I'm only 5'10" / 145 lbs).

Looks like they've pushed even more features down to the lower trims than the 2nd Gen had. So media comments about how expensive the Tundra is because they're just looking at base prices rather than comparing similarly equipped models will continue.

    Yeah, that is crazy.
The price of the used ones going for more than a new one deterred him from buying one. We talking about a new one and all of the trucks slated to come in were taken already. He decided to wait until the 22's arrive and revisit the situation.

I thought I read somewhere that under (18?) MPH the truck is moved solely from the battery. If that's true, 25 could be right. Thinking about parking lots and slowing down/getting going from stops.

    So much this!

I kept hearing people talk about how expensive the Tundra is. When I bought mine in October 2018, I shopped it against the Sierra and Ram. My platinum Tundra stickers for 53k, and I paid almost 7k less.
The comparable Ram stickers for 62k, while the Sierra was 64k. The Ram had about a 10k discount, which brought it down to about the Tundra MSRP. The Sierra was getting about a 3k discount at most.

So I could buy the Tundra with all the features, better reliability, and better resale for about 6k less than a first year Ram, which I do admit I liked better, and about 15k less than a first year Sierra that was smaller on the inside with worse dealers than the Tundra.

If people shopped the Tundra on comparable trims to the others, I think they would be surprised.

If ya really wanna have fun go in to trade your truck and when they give you a price....tell them...price sounds good but there is a 10K market adjustment that I am going to apply to the offer to close the deal, because you know...supply and demand etc. They really really don't enjoy that one. I hate most car dealerships and most car salesmen, so for amusement I have pulled that one a couple of times....lol

It's gonna need that 3 inch lift to be normal height...the truck looks really low to me. I have been told by the engineer that it has plenty of ground clearance...I hope that is a fact because at the moment it looks really low in pictures.

You and I think alike. I was angry that we would even think I was that stupid to buy that crap. And I wanted to go down the road you just described. I am fully greyed and he was young. I wanted to ask him 'does it look like this is my first rodeo?' But in the end I figured he wasn't worth my time so I literally tossed the papers back at him and said 'I'm done.' No sense in wasting another minute of my time on that chit for brains.

Manufacturers that add a line item cost to 'protect' their exterior painted plastics? That's like charging extra for the loom on the wires in the engine compartment. :infantry:

I don't know but just looking at the pics it doesn't seem like 10.1 inches of clearance to me, (which is the current truck). It could be an optical illusion since the truck is longer overall (hood) and the cab shrunk a bit, but at first glance they look really low. Rams and Chevys also look low to me in some trims and pics. Ram's do have a lower ground clearance. (8.3) but Silverado's have a higher ground clearance than the current Tundra (10.9) but look lower.

You talking about the film? I'm talking about a 'spray on fabric/paint protection' that the dealer said was factory ordered/installed and was 'built-in' to the VIN# so it could not be deducted from the price (they wanted an extra $1,620 for it). No way to prove it was actually done since it's a spray on and no line item on the window sticker.
