Maybe it’s for aftermarket options? Gives you and extra option down the road.

Which was a good thing. The domestics haven't caught up to that til recently. Used '19 Sequoia purchase was a no-brainer. Why buy a used Tahoe/Expedition when I can get a base SR5 Seq with better cargo room, better leg room, 2WD/full-time 4WD/CDL/4LO and 10" ground clearance on 18" rims.

Because asking that question with those words implies you expect to have to pay more. They will see that as an advantage for them. If you ask the way I'm suggesting, you'll probably get a more honest answer because it shows you expect a discount.

Think of it this way: If we were negotiating for a craigslist item and I as the buyer said "what will you take" you could give a number OR to keep your "cards" hidden by putting the question back on ME (which is more appropriate) and say "what is your offer?" Why would you walk into the dealer saying "gee, I know everything is weird right now and I'm going to have to pay MSRP but are you wanting MORE than MSRP because that's not cool" because that is essentially what you would be doing if you ask "how much are you marking up over MSRP?"

If nobody pays MSRP or higher, normal discounts will be back right away. We're our own worst enemies.

Red stripe appears to come on all trd off road models. I believe this is an SR5 TRD off road model.

The button bottom left by the finger was power running boards on a truck I saw in one of the review videos - so must be a dealer add on. Had 3 positions - out, in, auto when doors open

I like having "TRD" initials or accents in certain places, but this style just looks tacky imo.

Agreed. It is pre-production so we'll see what it looks like once it starts coming off the manufacturing line.

At least it doesn't have the T O Y O T A in 3" letters above the glove box. I wonder if that is a prototype thing or if that's the way it's going to be.

Why would this engine have auto off start if your not supposed to shut the engine off to quickly in certain situations for the turbo cooling?

Probably controlled by the computers, in my AT4 it will not auto shutoff once it's done it unless a certain speed for a certain amount of time has been reached. Toyota could program it to not engage if X MPH for Z Minutes unless Y seconds have passed since coming to a stop.

Those are not really close in real world...... They are doing what all manufacturers do and quoting bare bones, zero packages added payload.

Take a Platinum. 98% of them are built with a sunroof. Is it a factory option and adds 300 pounds of weight? Sure! There is not a Tundra owner on here that owns a Platinum and it has over 1,250 payload, even though the manual says 1,580. You also would be hard pressed to find a Platinum without one as anybody that buys the presumed top tier from a Manufacturer will want it and all the options more than likely.

I would say less than 2% of Tundras that are built will meet those factory specs on that chart and those are special ordered.

The 2022 1794 sticker has already been posted and it is 1,258 pounds. A lot less than that chart and same or about 50 pounds more than the Gen 2.5.

I believe you but that sounds crazy that something as annoying and pointless as that couldn’t be disabled. Idk if that’s a cut and twist two wires kinda situation. I’m guessing not.
