I love that this will happen OTA now instead of having to take it to a dealer

I like that a lot. I like the color matched fenders and surrounds instead of the black plastic. I also like the dark window surrounds too. Something like this is what I would move to in the future. I'd love a TRD Pro but I don't want a hybrid system. All gas or all electric.

I can't wait for Scotty to get his hands on the TTV6 Tundra. He'll have an aneurysm going over the truck.

It's a little hard to tell for sure from this picture, but it looks like adding the TRD off-road package to the Limited gives you a blacked out grill and fender flares... Looks much better imo

Looks like the Sport is the only trim without exterior camo and chrome.

That's probably the most acceptable amount of chrome I've seen on a truck.

My thinking so far is... If they offer a Limited with the color matched grille surround (like the SR5) and with the 12" digital instrument cluster... I'll be all over it

Did any reviews mention the air ride? Of the 3 videos I've seen I haven't seen it but remember seeing it on that order sheet.

The 2022 appears to be lower. Roofline in the vids I have seen is not as tall as the people doing the reviews. My 2016s roof is several inches taller than me, and Im over 6ft.

So how long until Toyota shows us all the color options and detailed pics of all the platforms? And just a over all tundra webpage update? A month?

Why are you in the 2022 Tundra forum? You don't have to be here - there are others where you may be happier?

Depending on model and options what reviewers said was the hybrid raises back seat height and pano roof reduces roof height. So if you got both it'll be smaller

could be an optical illusion. One of the designers said that the blacked out A and B pillars give it a lower look

I think it's a little early to get discouraged about the amount of chrome, lack of color matching, stock wheels, etc. I'm sure Toyota will offer various appearance packages that will give the buyer more options like the XP as they historically have done.

Not that this thread needs anymore opinions, but I can't help it. After sifting through what's been made known to the public, I think Toyota NA has done a pretty decent job with the 3rd gen. While Toyota obviously isn't pushing the cutting edge with most of what we've been shown, I think they have caught it up fairly well to the domestics. I think this is ultimately good for the consumer as it creates more competition and pressure coming from outside the big three. I for one am glad Toyota isn't trying to be exactly like the Fords and Chevys of the world so that the consumer has more variety based on our needs.

I get why some people are frustrated by certain things they see or don't see after waiting so long for this generation (Toyota didn't do themselves any favors in that regard by drawing out the most painfully slow reveal of any truck ever(?)), but as others have mentioned, Toyota's philosophy is much like Apple's. They aren't a $2 trillion dollar company because there are 14 cameras on the back of an iPhone that can fold into a paper boat, their stuff just generally works very well with above average fit and finish. When Apple rolls something out, there was probably an Android phone with that feature 3 years ago, but which one is going to be a better user experience and work seamlessly across all their devices, and ultimately lead you to buy another iPhone as your next device?

Sweer's team is in the game of averages. They know the truck on paper needs to be comparable to the big three's offerings obviously, and they have added a decent amount of creature comforts too even if some aren't standard. Anyone could go through this thread from the past two days and make a list of 100 things that people have complained about the 2022 not having. Can you imagine the cost of a truck that incorporated all of these things, besides the fact you would have no payload and the thing would be cripplingly complex. Us members of Tundras.com are a very tiny minority of enthusiasts that at the end of the day are passionate about our trucks and honestly are going to mod and augment our trucks no matter what a automaker delivers from the factory.

Also at the end of the day, Toyota's shareholders are their absolute top priority, not their customers, no matter what they say. I think this new Tundra will results in benefits to both of those groups of people.

Pretty sure they said it is indeed lower. Doesn't help that the ones I've seen people sit in have the pano roof which reduces head room even more

I bet it is, he said its a little lower in one of the interviews, my hope is they didn't gain that by lowering the entrance chopping the top type deal like when you get into the tacoma you have to fold in half. time will tell once somebody gets to see one who isn't 5'-3" lol..
