“Much like the tire tread patterns Ram applied to Rebel's seats when the truck was first introduced, the "Digital Camo" on TRD Pro is either loved or hated and is not optional”

That’s a bold design choice. Doesn’t look too bad on the exterior but that red leather print isn’t photographing well.

Look at the photos u attached, there is a massive difference between the Titan and Tundra. Look at how close the front axel is on the Titan to its side mirrors. Titan XD looked even worse.

I would hope the Rivian is better for a $67k starting price.

I think the comparison to the Lightning/Rivian is kinda pointless, apples to oranges.

Compare it to the Powerboost. Which is a great truck.... I just drove my dads about 450 miles this weekend. Awesome power (though it is rated less than the Toyota!). Tons of tech in truck, wouldn't want to be the owner when it's out of warranty and stuff starts to break.

Would it be nice to have the generator? Yep. Really nice. But the other benefits of the hybrid are still there and you have a couple Ford doesn't have: much better resale value, most likely a better built/more reliable truck.

Do those matter, since most of the people buying a brand new truck are gonna get rid of it before the warranty is up anyway? The resale value does, definitely, but maybe not the reliability as much.

I hope I'm wrong and nobody wants to buy them. That way I can get a good deal. LOL

Well, this checked all the boxes a lot of us have been bitching about.

    fully boxed frame: check
    Better fuel economy: check
    Transmission cooler: check
    6.5ft bed crewmax: check
    Better infotainment: check
    Locking rear diff: check
    More payload: check

AND we got coil springs, a hybrid, a light bar from the factory and still people are bitching.

STFU people and put your money where your mouth is. This is a damned fine improvement. Give those engineers some credit. They are listening and they executed.

looks are subjective but you’ll get used to it either way. Remember the Aztec? It’s positively boring by today’s standards.

and that’s all I have to say about that.

um the point of FULL time 4WD is you can never go into 2WD. if you can go into 2WD then how can you technically say its always FULL time 4WD?

if you watch the Canadian review of the tundra, they talk about only needing 87 octane to make those power/torque numbers. (grain of salt)

I think the issue is more of they didn't move the bar much compared to the competition. All they basically did was catch the tundra up to where they should have been years ago. They pulled tech that was in other vehicles like the taco and t4r and finally added them to the tundra like the locking rear diff for example. Should have been done years ago.

Is it confirmed it has a stand alone trans cooler?

Mpg isn't confirmed yet, the hybrid will be better for sure but that's trd pro only according to the TfL video.

Maybe I missed it, but are there front tow hooks? I can't see them on any pictures I've seen or I'm just blind. Where I offroad they are required and I have had to use them to help recover others with my LC.

No, full time 4wd means that you can leave it in 4wd for all driving situations and surfaces. It doesn’t mean that the truck doesn’t also have a 2wd mode. Just that you have the option of leaving it in 4wd all the time.

This is different than my truck—I can’t leave it in 4wd on dry pavement unless I’m driving in a straight line.

I wouldn't blame toyota for not having it at all. All it does is waste fuel...in my probably unpopular opinion....

I mean besides being uncomfortable for the first 5 minutes of your drive there is really no point in letting the vehicle idle after startup for any significant period of time. You get that engine warm way faster by driving it. The only time I would really see it necessary is for ice that is difficult to get off....maybe someone can change my mind.

And do people not like auto start stop just cause it is annoying? Is there really no fuel economy benefit or do people not realize how much idling waste fuel. An Engineering Explained video went through a study, it was on a like 2 liter 4 cylinder I think, that found if you are going to idle for more then 7 secs your going to use more fuel then if you would have stopped and started the engine back up.

This is an important point relative to the current Tundra. Can the 4th gen do it? I'm skeptical.

Jesus, I feel so vindicated and happy that my instincts to get a 2021 model were correct. The 22 looks awful. They took an existing design truck, added a turbo minivan motor, 250 right angles and a host of useless and unnecessary electronics.
I don't need an extra 3 mpg that bad, keep your tree hugger truck toyota.
