Why the F does Toyota think that the trd off road needs chrome window trim, door handles and satin chrome grill surround/rear bumpers? Same as the current Gen.

It’s a mish mash of copying Ford, GM and Ram.

If you need over 1500 lbs of payload you are not in the half ton market, Toyota has said and shown they are not interested in the HD market. Half tons are now versatile cars - unloaded fuel economy, ride comfort, and rear seat room are the most important features for manufacturers in the half ton market. Hybrid will hit the first, 4 corner coil springs and hydraulic cab mounts do the second, and CM certainly hasn't shrunk so the 3rd is checked as well.

By looking at the review videos the Tundra looks to be far more refined than the big 3. Go through the lots of those guys and look at the panel gaps, both inside and out and it looks like something thrown together. The Tundra looks to be aimed at the suburban family and I don't see any huge flaws that would turn people away who are in the half ton market - like the fuel economy of the 5.7 did.

Get it up and protected for off road use. This way there's no extra weight with skid plates. And if the worst happens should make for easy replacement - or swapping in a new generation of battery possibly

You are correct. "uses an electric motor sandwiched between the twin-turbo 3.4-liter and 10-speed that’s powered by a roughly 1.5-kWh nickel-metal hydride battery pack." from Car and Driver

Looks like I will be keeping my Gen 3 for now. Any word when the Gen 5 will be coming out because this Gen 4 is one hideous looking truck?

I want to see an SR5 and the specs! Ha Hopefully they don’t trickle them out until December.

I think the interior looks great. More gizmos than I need, but that’s how it goes. Pro exterior is nice. Limited and 1794 not so much.

I like it. I'll probably be buying one in a couple years. I'll let the bugs get worked out first.

It may just be an optical illusion but the bed doesn't look as deep as the previous to me, it looks almost as shallow as the tacoma

Impressive! Toyota has appeared to have nailed this design. I had decided on an F150 Limited 4WD but will wait to test drive this beauty.

    A few minor concerns:
    1) No vents in B pillars will be a major issue here in Texas.
    2) Did not address if back seats have a power recline feature.
    3) Toyota trying to do too much with the multifunctional center console. A workstation option like Ford offers would have been a nice touch.
    4) Not sufficient room for a laptop in the center console? When this is standard in today's trucks.
    5) Lack of Full Time AWD. Don't understand the lack of this option.
    6) No multifunctional tailgate? Would have preferred this over the multifunctional console.
    7) Wish list - Would like to see Toyota offer a premium sound system above the JBL line for its premium lines. Samsung Harmon Kardon has so many options that Toyota can still preserve the ML system for Lexus.
    8) 1794 interior is not as luxurious as Ford F150 Limited.

The lack of a V8 is not an issue with sufficient torque. Have been impressed with similar Ford engines.

Get another rep for the 1794 edition. His idiotic western jokes were annoying. And what's with the constant references to Ford? This is a Toyota. Surprised Toyota didn't proof or script these videos better.

Have they confirmed the bed will be composite? Pro is no spray in liner is needed. Con is you need a heavy bed mat. Weight of either is probably a push.

In the Redline Review, he says you can get a 3" factory lift on most of the trims. That's pretty neat.
