Toyota gives zero, and I mean ZERO, f**ks about aftermarket on the Tundra. Also, the aftermarket for the Tundra is weak at best because there are not a ton of them sold. Small customer base means small amount of effort will be put toward anything that only fits on a Tundra. Just the way it is, sadly. Besides, current wheel wells can fit 37s. How much bigger does it need to be?

I wanted a Tacoma for the longest time. But then I sat in a 3rd gen. Best way I can think to describe it is that it’s a Camry with a bed. It looks cool and gets better fuel economy, but it is a step backward from the 2nd gen in just about every other way.

Please Toyota—don’t do that with the 3rd gen Tundra!!

I don't HATE it, but it certainly doesn't say Tundra to me.

ya its pretty bad, its in my garage right now and I'm waiting to get my tundra back after teh put the new fuel pump in and ECU stuff.

I was takin back by how bad this new tacoma is, the engine was not smooth and it had like 0 torque, I can't get over how small the entry is and how low the roof is, I had to bend in 1/2 to get in.

Id take my older Tacomas I had in a minute over this thing

Let’s pray they don’t pull a Tacoma on this new tundra, but I’m sure they will.

Hope not for the sake of others as I hope to keep my 2019 until I can replace it with a full electric tundra, but that’s the reason I bought when I did. I wasn’t sure if I wanted a 2019 Tacoma, 2019 Tundra, or to wait for the new Tundra. I drive a Tacoma first, then two Tundras and bought my Tundra a day or two later.

if you drive a tacoma and then a tundra, I can't see how anyone could buy a tacoma. I guess if you just can't have the site of the tundra I suppose.

but that said, reliability or no reliability, there is no way if I was in the market for a midsize I would buy the tacoma.

I have an aunt and uncle who are both well over 6 ft tall, as are their two teenage kids. They always had to shop for vehicles based on the head room first. (For example, for minivans they were limited to either the Sienna or the Odyssey, can't remember which now). I was absolutely shocked when I heard they had bought a new Tacoma, given that I at 5'10" am too tall for one.

I bet. I was shocked how small and low the driver entry is, I dont like the seating position at all, it feels like you bend in half to get in, then you sit on the floor so your head doesn't hit the roof, and your legs are straight out from there.

really odd. the motor is pathetic

looks like they didn't get the parts in, now Im stuck with this thing till Saturday, bummer.

that would be better if your going used.

I had a 95.5 (first tacoma), 96, and a 98. all were way better than this thing.

I'm 6'5", I had two Tacoma's, then an FJ Cruiser, and now my Tundra - The Tundra is clearly more comfortable - but we still have a Tacoma that I drive occasionally, and while I definitely agree that I feel like I have to fold myself in half to get in, and it's not as comfortable of a ride - I have no problem doing long range drives on it. I've done 14+ hours straight in it before and I survived.

“Tacoma—setting the bar at mere survival.”

That’s a pretty low bar, haha. But I’d still buy one over any other midsize truck offered in the states, especially that hideous Jeep thing

Toyota's modern day design language is the Taco unfortunately. Can't wait to see a low roof line with a shitty engine and transmission lol.

Probably because everyone is scared that the new Tundra will receive the Taco treatment and have a shorter cab height. Had a coworker who drove a previous gen Taco for years, road with him plenty of times, never had any problems fitting. He gets a new gen Taco and the first time I go to lunch with him, at 6"2 I knock the sh!t out of my head on entry and at the time it really didn't feel small inside. Once I got a Tundra any time going to lunch with him after feels like getting stuffed into a Sardine can. I don't know why so many people crap on Taco's though, even the new gen ones are still great vehicles, the initial run of them had some drivetrain issues but that's to be expected with the first few years of any completely new vehicle. His I believe was the second year of the new model and he's had to do nothing but oil changes and tires. Honestly if someone were forcing me to buy a mid size sure I would fit better in a Chevy Colorado but I still have more faith in the drivetrain of the Taco. Seen too many videos and horror stories of Colorado's still under drivetrain warranty puking coolant on the driveway, Chevy hasn't been able to make a good V6 since the 3800 series II...
