For how long? And at how many stop lights? Stop and go driving dramatically decreases the mpg’s.

Anecdotal reports are fine, but again there are so many variables that can’t be accounted for. So as imperfect as their numbers are EPA is what I have to go with based on a standardized procedure and a lot data collected to that procedure.

My Father-in-law has a Ford with the EcoBoost and gets pretty decent mileage considering how he uses it. Again anecdotal, his driving style isn’t mine or yours.

People are clearly getting pissed off about mpg talk…so I will end with this. All Ford F150s are getting better mpg’s than the Tundra just not what Ford claims them to be…

My friends 2019 F150 Raptor with 12K miles is sitting at the dealer for the second time. First time a part had failed and his performance was way down. They had to take a few things apart to get to it and replace. Now his screen went black for a day and came back the next day but still no Bluetooth connection. Also he has to open his rear passenger door from the inside to get into the back seat. He called me and said you did the right thing getting a TRD PRO tundra over the Raptor.

He just came out of a Sierra 1500 Denali lease a little over a year ago. He turned that in early 8 months early because of too many issues the dealer couldn’t figure out.

Yeah, it seems pretty common senseical not to drop that tailgate end down with a hitch on there. But as we know common sense is not that common. I really think I can get along OK without the fancy tailgate tho.

I have driven 86000 miles from dec 26th 2018 to till now , have never reset the mpg. Gauge is showing around 17 mpg. Which is pretty close to manual calculations. It’s both in town and highway miles that is state hwy.

    Yikes!

Ford seems to be either excellent or garbage for reliability with no ground in between. A good friend of mine has an F-150 with the 5.0L and no problems. My F-i-L has a 2012 (I think) F-150 with the EcoBoost that he tows with and 150K on it and no issues other than the transmission getting hot once, but I’m not sure what he expected towing a decent sized camper in overdrive on a 95F day across Montana. I suggested he use tow haul mode on the way home, and no issues. Hope he flushed the transmission after that though…

The more I think about it, the more I want to see if a small turboshaft engine/generator electric motor hybrid could work. Aside from cost the problem with a turbine is fuel consumption vs power output at low load. This is where the electric motors and battery come into play taking care of most power needs unless full load is required for an extended period, then the turbine fires up and powers the electric motors directly via generator and also can draw the battery for very high power levels as needed. Of course the turbine could also run at full power strictly for recharge purposes as needed.

A 300SHP turboshaft engine only weights around 200lbs…. That is a lot of power density.

The "2H" button in the background in the multi terrain selector pic suggests no Torsen on that model. Was kind of hoping for that, love it on the 5th gen 4runner

That red looks a lot more red than the other pictures. Looks like ventilated seats on the pro. On the terrain select, are those buttons and a nob? Or is the nob used to select the crawl control etc.

A vertical wireless charger suggests wireless Android Auto and Car Play to me, as plugging in the cable wouldn't be possible if you wanted to charge wirelessly at the same time.
