True, All I’ve been getting is what’s been said that Ford is the best except when it’s not better than Gm which is best except when it’s not better than Ram which is best except when it’s not. I think Toyota is mentioned in there somewhere as well.

    Tundra owner is overweight.
    This makes the truck overweight.
Tundra owner gets depressed that his truck is overweight, turns to food for comfort.
    And the cycle continues…

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
When I hear owners of the current Tundra complain about the upcoming Tundra, I read their posts as if “Grumpy Old Man” from Saturday Night Live were narrating them.

I haven’t watched SNL in over a decade now. The job of a railroad engineer is like poaching and burglary: night time is the right time. I find myself working a lot of weekends, especially once it’s dark outside.

I have heard SNL isn’t what it used to be.

Remember a half ton truck's capacity is also constrained by it's tires.
Ford made a genius move to make their trucks significantly lighter, because that lightness went right to the vehicle capacity.

Look at the tires used on heavy duty trucks, do you really think a truck manufacturer wants those big, heavy tires on their half tons? Mpgs would suffer. There's probably a bunch of other legal or classification issues that may make uprating a "half ton" not possible.

Supposedly Toyota cut some serious weight from the LC300, if the Tundra has similar weight savings, it'll go directly to the truck's capacity.

    A bunch
Half ton trucks can be up to 8500 lbs (Class 2a) GVWR. Most are in the 7-8000 lb range, so there's room to get more there. And tires in the 32" size range usually are rated at ~2700 lbs each, so that would be over 10000 lbs the tires can handle.

I hear you. Actually, most 1/2 tons get SL tires which are about 2300 capacity each. So, 9200+ total. However, I don't think any engineer will design a vehicle at 100% limits. Also, if each tire is 2300 pounds, that means at any given point in the load, there should not be more than that on each tire. So, the rear tires are 4600 pounds, figure in truck weight over rear wheels, load in bed and tongue weight. Not maxing out the rating can help make the tire a little bit safer when driven on low PSI. Forces changing whilst driving. I'm just guessing, to be honest. I didn't stay in a Holiday Inn recently.

It probably is even more about vehicle regulations for GVWR and classifications.
