    For me, the spy shots show a screen with odd geometric shapes. It very weirdly integrates with the vents on either side. I generally prefer simple layouts, but it is 2021 and not having a modern, but an "old school" gauge cluster makes this new truck seem more outdated than the last one. It seems all fung shui'ed up.

    One more thing, if you think Toyota is going to roll out a 440hp/670 ft. Lbs. of torque, with 2,000 of payload, you are absolutely dreaming.

    I was at the Ford dealer this past Friday for work vehicles. A customers F150 King Ranch and Powerboost setup came in. I looked at it and it was a really good looking truck. It had a payload rating of 1,287 pounds on the door sticker. The f150 crew cab Lariat at work with 5.0 has payload of 1,483. The other King Ranch we have is in the 1,400's also.

    There is only really world 250 pounds or so more payload compared to tundra. Ford is the best and very sneaky in their marketing, but once you get in Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims there really isn't much difference compared to the Tundra.

    There are multiple screen sizes for most toyotas. Some have a 7/8" with a 9" or bigger option, depending on trim level obviously

    I think the Two engine options will be a V8 and TTV6. Interior looks fine, exterior looks fine. But I would believe that’s not the actual interior as well.

    I think we are seeing a higher trim screen in the "official" release and a lower to midlevel trim screen in the spy shot.

    It becomes more negligible if you account for differences in fuel tank size.

    This bugs me so much, and a big reason I'd never buy a F150 unless I got such a good deal I could sell it the next day for a profit. Their website shows the common Powerboost Crew Cab to have ~2000lbs of payload. Andre's F150 of TFL having 1700 or so lbs of payload made sense with this info taking into account all the fluids, but getting down to 1400 lbs is ridiculous. And how many people have ZERO clue to look at that door sticker to load their trucks right and will overload the truck by up to 1000 lbs. If Toyota pulled that crap they'd get sued massively as being misleading - just like the floor mats that only were problems if installed wrong.

    The problem is where that power is made and delivered that people have an issue with. The 4.0 was a truck engine, the 3.5 a minivan/car engine. Plus most complain the trans programming is awful which compounds the issue.

    How would you lose a foot in bed length if the new crewmax has a 6.5’ bed like your current double cab? Unless you have a double cab with 8’ bed?

    Pretty sure he's saying he's looking forward to the 6.5ft CrewMax, but isn't sure - and if he decides to go with the 5.5ft he'll feel the loss of length as his current vehicle has a 6.5ft.

    I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
    Wasn’t trying to be a dick, that did come off kind of dickish on my part. Just pointing out that we rarely redline the trucks to make them work, and you had quoted peak horsepower.

    Elsewhere I posted my thoughts on the deficiencies of how manufacturers communicate power and torque to buyers. I really do wish a dyno plot was displayed on the sticker so a gut or gal could take a look at power and torque throughout the RPM range.

    I’d love the new Tundra to have a 6’ bed and a 6” shorter cab. Split the difference between current CM and DC sizes. Same wheelbase as current truck.

    Yeah, I think the ~144" we have now is a good length. I think the new GM is more like 147", which is getting excessive in my opinion.

    I sat in a current or maybe previous gen F150 at the car show and there was too much space in the back seat of the Supercrew. I mean, I'm not the tallest guy but I think they could have easily moved 4-6" from the cab to the bed without getting any complaints.

    I am not going to quote the site or thread, but I read a whole thread last night about payload and the new Powerboost when it came out earlier this year. Everybody was saying it would be 1,800 pounds or more. Then once people started taking delivery of them, they started posting door jam stickers and they were in the 1,300's, haha. I am talking crew cab trucks, 4x4, and Lariat and up trims. You know, the popular trims that it seems like everyone buys.

    The PB F-150 only comes with the mid-level frame. Probably didn't bother adapting the hybrid to a heavy duty frame due to the hybrid being useless for big truck stuff.
    If you get an F-150 with "HDPP" Heavy Duty Payload Package, many versions of F-150 with the EB3.5 and 5.0 can get over 3,000 pounds cargo.

    Online for crew cabs it has 1830 (5.5' bed) and 1810 lbs (6.5'). That's the only weights found. Tundra has 1265 and 1185 for Crewmaxs. One is very close, and the other is 400 lbs off. I like to think many people do some basic research like going online to get an idea what each truck can do but if they do that they're still way off with F150's.

    I am not sure they don't use the heavier components. From what I can tell the GVWR goes of from 7,000 to 7,350 on Powerboost models. Truck weighs right at 6,000 pounds with the batteries and generator.

    I agree with this statement. Best compromise but keeping the truck the same length. Cant afford to have it be another ft longer and still fit in the garage.

    Yup.

    Although in the defense of everyone and their different wants and needs, Toyota could choose to do all of us and themselves a favor. That favor being develop and sell a credible 3/4 and 1 ton truck with Toyota quality, reliability, and durability. That and not be so stingy with news and information.

    Everyone is kind of peeved at what they perceive Toyota is about to release compared to what they need a truck for. Guys like me who need space, good road manners, like plenty of power, some off road ability, frequent foul weather capabilities, and occasional towing or hauling ability are well served with a 1/2 ton 4X4 pickup. A twin turbo 6 cylinder will give a guy like me more useful more efficient power than a naturally aspirated V8, at least the size of V8 Toyota would offer. A hybrid version with that same twin turbo 6 cylinder will probably be even better. My needs don’t = everyone else’s needs though.

    For a lot of other members here who are Toyota faithful or who have been burned by other brands, but also need to frequently tow or haul heavy the 1/2 ton isn’t the right tool for the job. They make it work for various reasons, and it does get the job done. However I’ll bet a large number of them would immediately acquire a 3/4 ton or 1 ton Tundra if it were available, because it would give them a reliable and durable tool that also did what they need it to do a lot better than a 1/2 ton.

    There is a damn good reason the domestic manufacturers offer multiple full size pickups with different payload and tow ratings. They figured out a long time ago that one or two sizes don’t service the customer’s wants and needs as well as 3-4 models more tailored to the specific task/purpose.

    How many of you guys would sign on the line for a 3/4 ton or 1 ton Tundra with a giant axle out back (maybe in front too, although I prefer IFS), a 6.0-7.0L inline 6 turbodiesel, or a big ass 6.0-7.0L V8 iForce with D4S in front of a 10 speed auto?
