That’s the idea. If the market holds

I can always jump back to Toyota if the new model is solid and does not flop

Thank you for sharing the pics. It's a good looking truck, for sure. I think the new Chevy 1500 body style pulls off the chrome pretty well too.

    you are welcome.

I like it theres no doubt about it. Now I can understand why folks make a fuss about options. That 5.3 is a peppy little engine takes off quick. Only thing I plan on is replacing the tires before winter get here with some all terrains. Maybe tint the front windows as well.

I just hate where they put the badges on that truck. The 4x4 is ok it's the other ones that give my OCD a nudge. Hope it's a good truck for you!

Not wanting to be the bearer of bad news but your truck has the AFM hardware in there which means the crappy lifters can still fail. GM is shipping them without the electronics to run the hardware because of the semi conductor shortage. I sincerely hope you have good luck with yours and don't run into lifter failure.

If I had to get another truck and couldn't go Toyota, GM would be my next option. The LT trail boss with the 6.2 would be the choice. I would be content trading some reliability for the raw power that motor has.

These are sweet-ass trucks. Does it have the G80 rear locker, and/or AWD?
Probably the best V8 mpgs you can get.
The only thing negative I will say, I have heard that GM is doing a major upgrade to the interiors of these trucks along the lines of their latest SUV (Tahoe/Suburban, which look extremely appealing) and, personally, I'd be waiting for the 2022's. The new interiors from GM are seriously decent these days.

I have read, and I never tried it, that removing the sensors helps a ton. I'd be more than willing to remove the vibrating sensors in the seat. I never understood the purpose when there's an audible alert.

I haven't heard that but it wouldn't surprise me.

    Cons to ditching the V8:
-All domestic competitors have one. Ford, Dodge, and GM sell a ton of NA V8's.
-Lose some fleet sales due to no CNG option with TTV6.
-Are you really going to put a twin turbo V6 in a stripped down SR model with vinyl seats?

    Pros to keeping it:
-Low cost since the existing V8 design has little/no R&D cost.
    -Satisfy V8 buyers.
-Those that want a simpler powertrain can still have it, maybe only available up to SR5 trim?

Based on cons above I don't see why they would phase out. Not sure how CAFE ratings for the model are figured with multiple engine models though.

Test drove one before buying my Sequoia. It's pretty wild the options you get on a Silverado even in lower trims. Love the smooth feel of the 5.3 as well. Also agree it's a fantastic looking truck and i personally still like chrome.

I passed for two reasons- 1: had AFM on a '13 Suburban and it was drinking oil by the quart per 5k miles with just 50k on the odo. 2: rear window leaks appear standard and as of my last reading on the subject were not resolved.

Yet i still glance at the Chevy lot when i drive by. They just have so many nice little touches such as steps on the rear bumper. Heated steering wheel, etc

If they've designed the truck for a V6, is the engine bay going to be long enough for a V8? (I believe that's one of the reasons why Nissan had Cummins design a new V8 for them that ended up being unreliable, rather than using the tried and true I6.)

I read from an insider the V8 is gone for 2022. The options will be the 3.5 N/A in the base trucks and 3.5 TT and 3.5 TT hybrid option in other trims.
